How do you remove members from the employee network once they have left the organization?

There are several employees who still have Podio accounts and are still members of our employee network, and I would like to remove them.

Hi Katie,

This is only possible on the premium version, since there is no organization admin on the free version.

If their account email address is on your company email server, then another option is to request a password reset for their accounts, then have your IT department forward the password reset email to you. You can use this to access their accounts and leave the organization from there.

Hope that can help!

I'm having the same issue. I have a premium version as well and we list an employee go but can not remove them from the network.

Once employees leave or get fired their email accounts are deleted, now I have to recreate an email account of an employee that has left the company, that that identity log into podio under the newly created discharged employee, leave the organization on podio then turn around and delete the newly created email account fr the discharged employee... Seems like a lot of work to remove an employee from the organization even though we are on the premium version... You guys need to correct this as multiply above by 20 or 50 expired employees on average & it seems very tedious work that some one needs to do...

I have 4 expired employees and I still have not had a chance to jump through those hoops to remove them out of podio...

This is a HUGE problem!! We can only remove employees if we pay and get on the PREMIUM plan??? I wish I'd known this in the beginning, I would NEVER want to have people that are not with us having access still. That is not okay Podio. Even if I wanted the premium version, to be strong armed into when a problem employee leaves is ridiculous.

Still a bit clunks yo remove expired employees, even with the premium version. Podio should make the employee/user model easier to use (activate, give rights, de activate, or blow the user away)...

This process of contacting our IT department and proxying into other people's email accounts is quite tedious, especially for the number of employees I need to delete. Plus, our IT department does not have the time to go through this. There should really be a more reasonable way for free users. Is there anything else I can do?

I agree. I made an error when I started using Podio and added some people to my organization who should have only have been added to workspaces. That fact that one has to upgrade to remove them is pretty silly and unfair

Not good Podio. To be sneaky like this for something as simple as deleting an employee on the basic plan.
You need to reevaluate this.

I started a Podio account over 2 years ago and recently decided to give it another try - unfortunately, I can't delete the users I had on the system 2 years ago. It appears I'll have to pass on this again.

https://help.podio.com/hc/en-us/articles/201019828-User-Management you have to click on it on your company name wrench bar and then go from there.

I ended up signing up to premium for a month just to effect the change....

Easier than the rudimentary instructions to start trying to access emails for left employees.

Additionally I have now worked into a leaving employee guidesheet that before they walk out the door,

  1. they have to forward all the contacts in their email at work a message to say they are leaving and who to contact at our company
  2. They must login to all intranets and disable or delete their accounts and forward any information to our staff.
  3. I no longer add employees to the network until I am sure they are there to stay.

I have the problem that I added a typo in an email adress. This email adress doesn't exist at all. I would like to remove it as there is no user behind it, adding the employees that were meant to be added is now impossible. No option for that also?
