Share Whole App With People
You know how you can share an individual record in an app with someone, right? Is there a way I could share the whole app with someone, and not give them access to the workspace?
Thanks!

Same same, I wanted to share the candidates app in my work space with the person in charge of screening them however also located in the workspace are training and personnel records apps and those contain privacy act. related information so I had to create a special work space to conduct the screening just cloned the app into the screening work space then invited the person in charge in. However it did create additional work for me to set it up it would be nice if you could share and app and its contents out with out compromising the entire work space.

Another vote for this one. I have a Customer Support app that I want visible to the client, however I don't want them seeing our in-office communications and tasks. It's a real pain for our CS reps to have to share every instance with the client, so we're stuck with sharing the entire workspace.

I absolutely concur with this one. We've for example a workspace on communication. Now if I want to bring in e.g. an external designer, I don't want him to see all that happening in the workspace, but still have access to the relevant graphics, texts and layout materials and discussions that have been going on in the past. Sharing stuff on app level is really a no-brainer for me and a lot of people have asked for it in various places, could someone from the great folks at Podio let us know whether this is at least something that is considered in going forward? Thanks in advance :)

I would certainly like to be able to share a single app in a workspace. We have a situation where we would like to share one app but there is sensitive information in the workspace that we don't want to share. An option may be to create another workspace with the single app in it and reference it back to the main app.

I would think that some basic permissions could be set for member Role for Items or at the App level (at the very least).
I know that this has been address by others, but it is rather crucial to how many business operate.
We use multiple work spaces one for each client, and we have internal notes as well as Workspace wide notes that need to remain separate.

I vote for this feature too! We want to share a Contacts App with a service provider in some sort of "Read-Only mode" but we don't want them to be able to take a peek at our other apps as they contain confidential information such as our clients contact info! It would be such a useful feature if we could share apps individually so others can just read them, not edit them!

I agree, this would be a great feature for us.
As a nonprofit developer, we have a workspace for each development project. We want to share our "Design Ideas" app inside this workspace with everyone (our team, designers, the City, engineers, etc.), but not everyone needs to see all of our budget, schedule, and other discussions that are not directly related to design.
Instead, we will have to invite people to each individual item within that app, which means they will not have the same abilities to filter and sort the items.

This is so necessary. Everytime I add an item I have to remember who to send it to. Podio is supposed to streamline work but how is this better than sending emails for each item. It's supposed to create workflow and reduce my work. It makes no sense not to be able to share an entire app.

@Angie
Why don't you create an own workspace B for the people who have to work with this special app, but shouldn't have access to the other apps in the same workspace A? With Podio Advanced Workflows you can even clone every new item on create from the app in workspace A to the app in workspace B and you can it keep updated on changes in in workspace A; you can even sync some fields between the apps. You also can make some fields in the Workspace B app read only (via calculation fields)Rainer

We need this feature too. We are working with some external partners who we want to give access to a single app, but not the rest of the workspace. Moving the app to another workspace is not a solution as it's more convenient for our employees to have the app in the same workspace.

Many of our discussions at my organization lead towards wanting to share just an app... not the workspace, not the particular item, and not wanting to relocate the app because of all the other dependencies we've already built between workspaces. So we run into this problem a lot and would love to see the feature added.
