In addition I would like a feature request to disable the statuses for some workspaces. Sometimes we have multiple workspaces and want only one where members can post statuses.

@Hans, it should actually only be taken 50 % space - you have 50 % customized tiles in right side:

    Hey David Jordan,

I see your point. It is also something we are discussing internally - how to make the activity stream more useful, personal and also flexible to give every user the option to customize the space. It is quite a big project though and not something we have prioritized to fix in the short-term roadmap. We are currently working to add even more power (and flexibility) to other areas of Podio.

Hopefully we can give the activity stream some love in 2015 :)

I guess it is not just a question about removing code but also defining the value we believe in (how we think Podio should work) - so far, we still believe the activity stream gives the transparency and knowledge sharing dynamics we believe in and think is valuable for a team working together. So removing it would be a larger decision and we want to make we make it useful for most users if we change it (imagine if Facebook removed their stream - or made it a choice for each user to select the stream feature). But yes, we're discussing different options internally so it is definitely a valid point.

Keep coming back to check, but no, it's still there.

just installed Podio on my iPad mini, where the activity stream makes even less sense.

There is barely any space left for useful work. Just an Orwellian account of who installed this or subscribed to that, and when. It's like an IT manager's event log - a tedious list for most people.

Could be a great app, but life's too short. Sorry.

+1 I don't MIND having the Activity Stream, but in my office environment no one is interested in using it, and at home I don't really need it to manage my tasks. I never look at the Stream to see what's going on. I look at the apps I've spent so long plugging the information into.

@Yacine, great ideas! There is nothing in the pipeline for Q2 though.

Another workaround - this is so frustrating! But here it is -
I bookmarked my workspaces - but NOT the front page of my workspace where the Activity Stream lurks. By chance I stumbled onto a page which simply lists the apps in that workspace:
    https://podio.com/ our name / this workspace / apps/
ie, append "/apps/" to your workspace name.
If you work on various computers and are online, you can save your bookmarks in an email draft, or Xmarks.
But wouldn't it be nice if Podio would make the Activity Streams an option so we wouldn't have to waste time with workarounds??? Thus breaking their resemblance to Microsoft and Apple? Flexibility in every way but this? I have faith this will change...

@Karey That is NOT a good page to bookmark, because the only link it provides is to Archive the app. Its not providing any less steps than landing on the main project page and is providing a link that people could accidentally remove the app from their project

@Nick, I see the Archives link, you are right that could be problematic. I use the apps links at the top of the page. Or, one could bookmark the most-used apps and items (I do that too) and put the "bookmark" list in a Podio page - but the Podio page is easily accessed on a computer it's a bear to get to on a tablet or phone. The best way, of course, is for Podio to make the Activity Stream an option, we all know that.
Thanks for asking us to update our posts here! Squeaky wheels!

+1. Even if i could move it to the right side, or down, that would be great.

Does any User have anything positive to say about the Activity Stream ?

As far as I can see, everyone thinks it is a waste of space, and even the Podio team have not yet thought of a use for it.

The Activity stream is pointless but the other new changes are annoying too. Having to close that useless info to the right every time you enter an app...

And the new cards layout shows less info on screen than it did before. I have to use table view now and then that keeps resetting itself.

Could everyone please make sure they upvote Brian's question? This is the only way to really put this on the radar.

It sounds like so many people are fed up with this feed and I really struggle to understand why Podio is not taking this more seriously. It's quite baffling from a company that had customisation and flexibility as it's key USP..

What would be nice is to at least have the option of unsubscribing from select workspace streams. There are some things I want to know about and others I don't. But yeah I vote for hiding it.

I would like to be able to filter the activity streams by a date range. I would then be able to see what work had been done across all my apps for a certain week. (Helpful for reporting to my boss.)

+1 to this request to be able to disable/minimise/change the activity feed (especially the size).

I also have empathy for you guys at Podio, juggling multiple priorities. I imagine that modifying the activity feed is not "just a bit of code" -- it's probably been part of the infrastructure of Podio since the start, and it's tricky to change it :) Thanks for considering this request in due course.
