I'd like to see an activity stream that is more focused on activity, more condensed in it's layout. Right now so much space is taken up by the item title and then the files attached to the item (why the files?). I'd like to see it more like the comment/activity stream that is in the items. As it is now I do alot of scrolling to crawl through the activity stream and get to what is actually happening, especially on a day with lots of activity. Thanks for listening!

@Rob Thanks for your vote and feedback on this - it's great to have so much to consider!

+1 it would be useful if we could at least move, depending on the nature of the workspace the Activity stream can be redundant yet it dominates the left-side of the screen, as such it only serves as a distraction.

Everyone in our team thinks having so many items on the Activity Stream makes the home page look busy. We want to be able to focus on the items that really matter to us. So even a "hide" feature (so that we could look at it only when we want) would be great!

I have posted several times on this issue, but we are all wasting out time. The developers have no intention of ever removing the activity stream, despite not having offered any reason to keep it. It's a pity, it could be quite a useful app otherwise.

+1 Our users are getting overwhelmed by the Activity Stream so they ignore it.

My company is testing Podio right now, but the lack of response from Podio on issues such as this is disturbing.  The program does so much; why would hiding the activity stream be such a difficult feat?  Can we at least get an estimate on when this problem will be addressed?

Adding my voice in support of making the activity stream either removable or much, much smaller. I appreciate that Podio is trying to increase transparency, however the way the activity stream is currently set up creates an information overload. Rather than successfully feeding me information about my colleague's use of the space, I treat that part of the page as if there is nothing there and just go directly to my apps - and as many before me have mentioned, I wish I had more space for them.

It is quite redundant to have an activity stream overview on the homepage and then again in every single workspace. I'd be happy and more likely to utilize the feature if it were just on the overview page and then the workspaces were left for working.

My final issue with the activity stream is that it mixes conversation and activity updates. If I or my colleagues were to "share something," new and important such as a general announcement or question, it would very quick be buried with "Jenny edited this 1 hour ago. Jenny edited this 2 hours ago. Jenny edited this 2 hours ago," etc.

I too would like the ability to hide or minimize the Activity Stream.

This comment, and hundreds like it, have been consistently ignored for three years at least. So let's try a different tack.

Dear Podio, please could you suggest a single use for this activity stream that your users have ever shown any interest in? Nobody actually wants it, and on a tablet (which many people use), the activity log occupies 100% of the visible screen, so rendering the software unusable.

Why not share your reasons for wanting to persevere with it ?

From a previous Citrix employee's post it seems like the activity stream is integral to their vision of how the software should work. Basically, they are forcing their own use-case on the user, which I think they do at their own peril. I've seen folks admit to ditching the software because of the Activity Stream. It really seems like some developer's pet feature... is it so hard to make it hide-able or able to be resized? Obviously not. Frustrating to have such a customizable piece of software with this feature that is so obstructive and immutable.

In response to Kevin Greene and all others: I'll use Podio when they get rid of the Activity Stream. It makes the entire product unusable.

Its been 4 Years.  Are you going to make it like a Widget we can ad or resize or NOT?  It is even an item on you Product Back Log.  Feed back would be appreciated.

You're wasting your time. This company doesn't listen to its users or potential users.

Deleted this app 2 years ago.

Just out of curiosity, Sara, how many comments have you had about the Activity Stream and what percent have been positive? Over what span of time? Please include those that have been directed both to this post and to Support independently.

We use tbe browser's bookmarks for Podio's pages as a way to avoid the Activity Stream altogether, so haven't used the Workspaces menu in years.

None of the users here are suggesting that you remove the Activity Stream from folks who find it useful, or from new users who might find it so. It should be simple for you to offer the standard page with the Activity screen, and offer a means to hide or modify it, with an automatic feedback as to the number of such pages which performed either action, at which point you would have a real sense of its utility to your users, rather than wondering how many share this sentiment without speaking up.

@Sara - I came looking for a way to get the Activity stream out of my way.  I find posts starting four years ago with many different people asking the same thing.  And the response I basically see from you is "No - we know better.  just learn to use it better."  I actually do know what I want to see in in my personal dashboard and can create the reports to easily get to what is important and get a quick view where things stand.  Please, after four years, start listening to your customers and treat the activity stream like any other app - able to be removed, moved and/or minimized.

We use the emails on the right to communicate, and they can be hidden.

What if the activity stream had this option? Hide when working on other things, open as needed, ability to set the default for each workspace to open or closed. You should be able to tally the defaults and see how folks prefer to work.

I would like to be able to filter the activity streams by a date range. I would then be able to see what work had been done across all my apps for a certain week. (Helpful for reporting to my boss.)

+1 It is 2019 now... I am a further client/user wishing there was a possibility to hide the activity stream. It is not useful at all for me and rather annoying, as I would rather focus on what is important for me... Thank you!

    Hey Daniela,

Thanks a lot for your input! Though we would not be able to commit a timeline to it, I can assure you that we are aware this is a common request from multiple customers and we will work towards getting it implemented.

    Best regards,

    Carlos - Podio

+1 to this request to be able to disable/minimise/change the activity feed (especially the size).

I also have empathy for you guys at Podio, juggling multiple priorities. I imagine that modifying the activity feed is not "just a bit of code" -- it's probably been part of the infrastructure of Podio since the start, and it's tricky to change it :) Thanks for considering this request in due course.

The activity stream is overwhelming for my not very technical collaborators and it doesn't give them any useful information. It's also pretty obnoxious being full column left.

Things that would make it easier:

    1. Choose a home screen for a workspace with a separate Activity Stream panel.
    2. Have the Activity Stream be a moveable tile that I can then move to bottom right.

EDIT and I've just found out that the Activity Stream is out of kilter with the grid that tiles works to, so it's extra obnoxious as it ends at a different level to the tile column.

It's been years (specifially 6 on this particular thread). Is there ANY update on this? It seems there is a collective group of users who would like an enable/disable option for the activity stream side panel. Or even have an option to resize since it takes up WAY too much space.

    Has this been forgotten?
