I see your point - but I also want to be honest and make sure you know this is not prioritized from the product team in the current roadmap (as it would be a bigger project). We're currently working on adding more advanced workflows as well as a more customizable badge layout :)

Hopefully we'll add even more flexibility in 2015!

What if one could close it, as the views on an item?
Just slide it away and if you need it you can restore it.

Keep coming back to check, but no, it's still there.

just installed Podio on my iPad mini, where the activity stream makes even less sense.

There is barely any space left for useful work. Just an Orwellian account of who installed this or subscribed to that, and when. It's like an IT manager's event log - a tedious list for most people.

Could be a great app, but life's too short. Sorry.

+1 would like to be able to move the activity stream or minimize it. Takes up too much space.

Just adding another voice here. More customization would indeed make sense regarding the activity feed, though I understand about priorities.

+1 I don't MIND having the Activity Stream, but in my office environment no one is interested in using it, and at home I don't really need it to manage my tasks. I never look at the Stream to see what's going on. I look at the apps I've spent so long plugging the information into.

    • 1 this is really a high priority for us.. we have no use of the Activity feed and it's polluting or dashboard..

@ Sara - thanks for following up with this.

I hear your point on trying to improve it, but why not give us the option to remove it/hide it in the meantime. It really doesn't make sense to adversely impact our user experience and force us to use something we simply have no use for and don't want.

Alternatively, could we have the option to create a dashboard view that would only be made of tiles from different apps? i.e. like the 50% to the right of the activity feed, but a full page like that. We would then just put the activity view at the end or hide it all together..

    Upvoted.

There are people in my company who don't get any use out of Podio really and for whom it's just an extra bit of admin. If we got rid of the activity stream then the front page would be so much more customisable: there'd be much more space for people to design their home screen so that they're presented with loads of USEFUL information, and I think people would be much more engaged with it.

@Yacine, great ideas! There is nothing in the pipeline for Q2 though.

As well as upvoting there is multiple questions with the same ideas in the help centre. Because I have no use for the activity stream in the way I run Podio, using the right side for a dashboard is too cramped and doesn't make it a usable space to get an overview which it would do if I could make it the full screen. So not only do I not use the activity stream, but the activity stream makes the entire landing screen of no use to me, :( I would love to use it for a big task list and notepad view, being the only place I can show things from multiple apps, but on the road on a smaller laptop this half a screen view is horrible! Why not have the activity stream in a docked popout you can minimize, this would allow people who use it to quickly check their stream from any of their apps without returning to the home screen!

Another workaround - this is so frustrating! But here it is -
I bookmarked my workspaces - but NOT the front page of my workspace where the Activity Stream lurks. By chance I stumbled onto a page which simply lists the apps in that workspace:
    https://podio.com/ our name / this workspace / apps/
ie, append "/apps/" to your workspace name.
If you work on various computers and are online, you can save your bookmarks in an email draft, or Xmarks.
But wouldn't it be nice if Podio would make the Activity Streams an option so we wouldn't have to waste time with workarounds??? Thus breaking their resemblance to Microsoft and Apple? Flexibility in every way but this? I have faith this will change...

@Karey That is NOT a good page to bookmark, because the only link it provides is to Archive the app. Its not providing any less steps than landing on the main project page and is providing a link that people could accidentally remove the app from their project

@Nick, I see the Archives link, you are right that could be problematic. I use the apps links at the top of the page. Or, one could bookmark the most-used apps and items (I do that too) and put the "bookmark" list in a Podio page - but the Podio page is easily accessed on a computer it's a bear to get to on a tablet or phone. The best way, of course, is for Podio to make the Activity Stream an option, we all know that.
Thanks for asking us to update our posts here! Squeaky wheels!

Does any User have anything positive to say about the Activity Stream ?

As far as I can see, everyone thinks it is a waste of space, and even the Podio team have not yet thought of a use for it.

The Activity stream is pointless but the other new changes are annoying too. Having to close that useless info to the right every time you enter an app...

And the new cards layout shows less info on screen than it did before. I have to use table view now and then that keeps resetting itself.

Could everyone please make sure they upvote Brian's question? This is the only way to really put this on the radar.

It sounds like so many people are fed up with this feed and I really struggle to understand why Podio is not taking this more seriously. It's quite baffling from a company that had customisation and flexibility as it's key USP..

The activity stream should be like any other tile - giving the usder options to remove, resize or replace with something else if required.

I really, really do not see any use for the Activity Stream, as I am the only person using this program i.e. not part of a Team ... How about giving us the option if we want it or not?

What would be nice is to at least have the option of unsubscribing from select workspace streams. There are some things I want to know about and others I don't. But yeah I vote for hiding it.

+1 - The Activity Stream should be just as optional and adjustable as all the other tiles.
