Workflow enhancement for category fields

Would it be possible to add an additional feature to the workflow feature that allows specific tasks for specific category selections? For example, if I have a category called, "Status" that has values like Not started, In progress, Awaiting approval and Complete, it would be great if, when someone changes it to "Awaiting approval" a task for the manager to approve it is generated. On the other hand, when "complete" is selected tasks could be generated for closing the project or starting the next phase...

Thanks for considering!

Hey Cindie,

Perhaps you can ask your team to follow the app for new blog posts? They will then automatically be notified when a new one is created :)

We are also working on supporting multiple contacts in the workflow so this should be possible in the future :)

Unless I've missed something (which is entirely possible), you can't use the Advanced Workflows to trigger changes to other fields within the same item that the trigger initiates from. There only seems to be support for field changes in other items..?

ie. A category field labelled 'Status' gets changed and we would like a progress bar within the same item to be automatically adjusted based on the 'Status' field. For example: 'Status > First contact' sets progress bar to 5%, 'Status > Quoted' sets progress bar to 25%, 'Status > Complete' sets progress bar to 100% etc.

Any suggestions?

Hey Garrett,

Correct, currently you only change fields in related items.

We are working to add support for changing existing/triggering item as well, planned for later this quarter :)

Is there a way to transfer information from an app in one workflow to another app in a different workflow?

Hi Therin,

You can use the workflows and update and add information in related apps yes. One workflow cannot trigger another workflow as the trigger needs to be added manually (change field or add item).
