Disable tasks within an app

Podio often suggests   to use a "task-app" instead of using "native" tasks, because native are more intended as a personal todo list rather than a project shared task:

I too agree that cannot getting rid of the default tasks box in eachapp home is very disorienting, especially when the team has been told  not to use native tasks, but "app-tasks".

I agree, have the tasks block for every app is silly...

I second this. Please make tasks optional. Its very confusing to people. And no matter how many times you tell people not to use it, there's always somebody who does.

I agree, come on Podio, get moving on some of these great suggestions.
The build in task are great for personal reminders but not for teams to use when you have a Task App.

I feel a cheated here. Is constantly been recommended by Podio and their partner that you have to make your own "task app" instead of using the task system.

But when you wrote to Podio how you disable Podio task system in a task app.
They just write back You just need to change the app-type to default, then the Podio task list will disappear.

But they are all default??? So i wrote again. No sorry you cant disable task i was wrong. Its because our shorkey for task would not work. WTF that is the most lame excuse i ever heard.

The product manager must surely have slept completely.
There's absolutely no point in having dual-task method in an app.

It is really incredible that this has not yet been resolved.

    Regards
    a very unhappy Podio user!

I agree with all of the comments. The tasks and files at the bottom of the app data and the comments on the side should all be optional. This is confusing for apps which do not need it. There should not be any forced data, it should all be optional.

I agree. I never use the tasks system and I don't want other members to use them. Podio, please make tasks optional!

    Hello there,

No updates on this at the time being I'm afraid. I just answered on a similar thread in regards of this where also my colleague Mette describes a bit of the background of this: https://help.podio.com/hc/communities/public/questions/202944096-Podio-stop-confusing-the-user-and-add-posiblity-to-disable-task-list-in-a-app?page=1#answer-206141658

    Hope that can help!

I want to bring this topic back up. We have the same problem and really want to "simply" disable the task field in some/all Apps like the tags and file field so we can make our on app which better suites our needs.

Still not possible? I can't figure out how if so. I really want to disable tasks (just like I do tags) from some of the apps. Actually, I would even prefer disable tasks all-together if it is not possible to do from a app-to-app basis.

I'm trying to create a project tracking app with a structure. Tasks are creating confusion - Projects have deliverables have tasks (in my model), but users are able to add tasks everywhere. Makes no logical sense

Tasks need to be optional... everything needs to be optional.
