Colored Cards, based on selected category field value or app reference
CompletedFeature idea for card layout: make the card assume the color depending of the first category (e.g. next = yellow, working on = red etc.) or an app reference (deliverables of product A = yellow, deliverables of product B = red etc.).
Inspired by kanbanflow.com. Like coding = red, design = green, documentation = yellow etc. Then you can show different categories in columns (like next / today / in progress / testing / done / dismissed) and in rows (like priority levels). One more dimension adding design and context without cluttering the lean card view with more text.
I would most love to use it for app references, so that in a card view with status columns (later, next, in progress etc.) and priority rows you see which cards belong to one project or deliverable or product and which to another one.

Hi everyone!
This is now possible with today's new card layout updates! Cards will now show the color of the category used to sort your columns. Hopefully this visual refresh will help make the card layout even better for you! Please let us know if you have any feedback.

Hi folks, this feature request of mine is from 2013, and since that date the card view hasn't undergone any change. I'm using it all day and would really appreciate cards in the Podio team's next sprint backlog.
Apart from this idea with colored cards there are many more great ideas (most discussed: customization of fields displayed in cards), some of which I now list in order to make obvious how much thought is spent on the card view by Podio user:

A ColorStateList is an object you can define in XML that you can apply as a color, but will actually change colors, depending on the state ...car world
