    Hi,

Podio is willing to be on top of the project management right? How come you are ignoring on of the most known metodologies used to understand risks,assigments,times,etc... used all over world, in almost every corporation? Implementing it would ease the resistence to change and would be complient with what most people are already using...MS Project/Ganttic or whatever. I see you could implement your own take on Gantt and it would be even awesomer...but do not say no to happy customers we've been.

And please...stop sending us to http://gantt.bendixkiel.org/...if you want us to use it...allow embeed apps inside Podio...otherwise...whats the point of using Podio and still have to open X tabs? Its the same old method of 10 Excel windows, MS Project, task manager... Bendixkiel DOES NOT WORK. tried many times Object Event error always shows up making me even more depressed. Other colleges already tried and no success either.

Teamlab is already developing this feature.Bitrix24 already has it.Teambox also has it's take on Gantt,CentralDesktop,Planio...So...is it that hard?

    Thanks.

Another +1 for Gantt chart.  I've been waiting a while for this.  I hope you guys come thru before I have to switch to something else.  You should be able to give us a timeline for this.  From the comments so far it sounds like its not even in the roadmap.  I hope this isn't true.

I agree, Podio absolutely needs a Gantt chart functionality.

I'm currently using Smartsheets for my Gantt charts, and Podio for everything else.. This is a drag, as a lot of what I do is redundant. If Podio supported Gantt charts I'd switch to Podio full force.

I looked at the Gantt charts provided by http://gantt.bendixkiel.org/ but it's, frankly, very lame. It looks bad and has little to no controls. I need Smartsheet level functionality.

    Please consider this!

+1 for a gantt chart within the structure of Podio. This seems like a a basic notion to have something like this in project management for us to use. The external app is sloppy and doesn't work well to multiple project needs.

    Totally quoting Mike:

+1 for native gantt charts in Podio. It's the only thing stopping me from promoting Podio to all my clients as I know one of their initial questions will be, "Does it have Gantt Charts?"

I am using Podio for my projects for one year now. And I really love it.

But I keep searching on the internet for otjher affordable solutions that include Gantt Charts.

Beceause that is still a show stopper for most clients.

    Come on Podio.

I see all those comments in this post asking for an answer. Is there a possibility that Podio will get that feature integrated in the near future?

    Hey Tomas and Jan,

You can find a few answers from myself and my colleague Jacquelyn above - but I will repeat what we have said so far.

There is no current plans to implement this within Podio. We recommend using the integration developed by our partner - if you are having any issues getting it to work, you can contact BendixKiel and I'm sure they'd be happy to help you get that up and running or improve the functionality further.

    http://gantt.bendixkiel.org/

If you have a developer yourself you can also build your own solution via the developers API: https://developers.podio.com/

Internally in Podio we use the card layout for project overview in combination with filters and views: http://blog.podio.com/2012/10/17/card/

Sorry about this, but nothing planned so far.

I always read "sorry about this, but nothing planned so far". Can you tell us what is your plan then? I am afraid that you do not listen your customers.

We have many features requested every single day and it won't be possible to implement or prioritize everything at once. The goal is to keep improving the functionalities of Podio without making it more complicated to use (keep simplicity). Adding too many features will not be helpful for anyone in my opinion.

Currently we are working to improve the overall experience and functionality in the app builder and the item and to add core improvements to the mobile apps that has also been requested for a long time.

We recently released a new calendar layout that has been requested by many Podio users. Here is info on some of the releases we have done this year: http://blog.podio.com/category/product-news/

You can always let us know via a private support ticket and mark the ticket as "idea for Podio" if you like info a specific feature (planned or not). Next year we will work to improve the Help Centre functionalities to include better visibility and overview in the feature request forum to show what is planned or already implemented.

Sara, it seems very odd to have 50-some people all requesting a very, very basic function of PM, for months and get such lame replies such as "we have other requests" or "please fill in this ticket for 'an idea for Podio.'" There are many great things about Podio, but simple visualization is not one of them. If your goal is to keep Podio simple to use than a Gantt chart is absolutely essential for simplicity. What is not simple is telling users to go use an outside app.

I found bendixkiel to be a sub par offering. If your looking for a solution that still integrates with some of your existing tools and you work with Google drive the Gantter app is a good stop gap. You will still have to enter dates in twice (Gantter and Podio) and update twice for every change which is why I would prefer native podio support. Still this allows for team collaboration.

    Video of Gantter in action
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TuP-EBoOgFw

Click create in google drive and then 'contect more apps' and look for Gantter.

Other than gantt chart support I loooooove Podio and find it's modularity and customization make it one of the most scale-able management/CRM solutions on the market at any price. Also try using the calendar view to get a basic workload overview.

Also check out Toggl integration for time-tracking. There is a chrome add on that lets you start tracking in real time right from a button on each podio item. Toggl also has a gantt like product called Teamweek which still needs work as it lacks dependencies and the UI is still a bit buggy. If they get that sorted and work on syncing Podio projects/deliverables/tasks this could be a great strategic partnership between the 2 companies!

I recently switched from Podio to Asana. I really like Podio. But the lack of a Gantt chart was a deal breaker. Asana doesn't have a built-in Gantt chart, but there is a third party service, http://instagantt.com, that works great. It's worth looking into.

After reading this thread I am beyond surprised at the response. I whole heatedly agree with everyone. especially Katrina Brede. Imagine the 50 people here are all project managers with on average a team of up to 10 people or more thats 500 users right there. Think about the potential lost revenue with a feature like this. I can't imagine we are the only ones with this issue? so perhaps double or triple that figures. I appreciate you Development takes time and you can only develop so many things at once. But this is a big one.

As a positive I really enjoy the user experience so far and it seems almost perfect (almost) Good job guys.

was choosing between all project management software for my new company and did a lot of research.

we tried basecamp, zoho, rtm, tom's planner, creately, paymo and etc... and it came down to 2 choices...

podio was one because i had used it a while back for another company partnership and loved it. looking futher into it though, it seems the same reason we left a year ago (no gantt), is still the same and has not yet been developed :(

so for now, your competitor http://j.mp/smartsheet-gantt will get our biz

please know, we like the flexibility you have more, but no gantt... is a deal breaker!

email broadcast your users when you have gantt and i'll come check podio out again

like one of the other users mentioned here, huge potential revenue lost because of this mandatory feature...

I watched their tutorial video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fnStJJ5ox30 to configure out my Gantt for PODIO, but sorry to say, its kinda ugly. Its design doesn't fit with the podio looks, and I felt its not very well integrated either. I have to agree with everyone here, PODIO was the best Project Management I've found... But the lack of a Gantt chart was a deal breaker.

Just for information, the other good options are Asana and Teambox, but if money its not your problem I would suggest Wrike.

We've been trying to find gantt charts for weeks now with podio. After reading this thread, we'll be switching to something else. Podio is overly complex however without gantt, it's needlessly complex without any use to us. We would have stuck around if this thread showed promise of gantt sometime to come, but alas, podio has their own agenda.

I saw the application, even though it's an useful "in the meantime" fix... I REALLY need the option to see the calendar in gantt chart mode.

Wrike has this feature. The easiest thing to do could be connect wrike to Podio.

Well, we made the switch to RedBooth (formally Teambox) and wow, it's everything I have ever wanted in project management and collaboration. Podio, epic fail folks! RedBooth is so good, we are upgrading our account this week.

I agree that no Gantt is a big and important issue, but I still prefer Podio to TeamBox cause here I have:
    - expenses control
    - kanban
    - bug tracking

    Hey everyone.

I'm working at BendixKiel (www.bendixkiel.org) as an Podio Work Architect, and we're the company behind Gantt for Podio (http://gantt.bendixkiel.org/). This is, as I'm sure most of you are aware of, a free tool, and we've decided to develop a premium chart - which will include new and improved features. However in order to create the best possible Gantt chart we would love to have your suggestions and inputs.

For inputs please use this webform - https://podio.com/webforms/6877934/530703
    For early access - https://podio.com/webforms/6885430/531191

I have been searching around for a new cloud based project management tool, found Podio, thought: "Great! This might simplify everything!" and then found out there is no Gantt or visualization. Well, so much for using this software. Why is this not prioritized to implement? If you want to reinvent how people plan projects, fine, but my recommendation, to keep yourselves afloat, is to add Gantt charts first so you don't experience mass user exodus. Remember your clients are project managers here. There are TONS of people above me here asking for a Gantt, and I am asking the same. Look, you guys have made an awesome product with a fatal design flaw here. I'd say make a Gantt absolute top of your priority list or risk losing tons and tons of users. This is like building a high-end sports car without a windshield, or something like that. +1 for Gantt!
