I LOVE the auto increment feature. But I have one question: when might it be possible to reference those numbers when creating an App Reference field? For now, the app reference field lets me search only by the item's Title, but those are pretty generic.

Can we search by the increment numbers, please?! :)

    Hey Tyler

You can search by the numbers and if you want to use the unique ID in the app reference field, you can hit #[id] to find them :) Have fun!

Good question, Eric. I noticed this just the other day, but it hasn't become a huge issue for my company yet. I hope it won't.

But it would be nice to see the numbers in the app.

Oops, then I went back and read Sara's comment and the reference to the blog post. So, -1 to even things out.

yes that would help as well when you create Tasks for the HelpDesk Application, so our support can refer or search the Ticket easily

One of our companies uses an important auto-increment value to classify Sales Opportunities. I would like to import these opportunities into podio.

The Podio Unique ID field would be ideal. But my field's starts at 20 000.

If I want these people to use Podio, they need to see this number.

I'm looking into two separate solutions :

    1. Adding 20,000 to Podio's Unique ID

      • I have tried but failed. It is put together as strings.
      • Is there a formula to add to the unique ID as an Integer?
    2. Importing 20000 empty lines and then delete it.

      • This seems extreme to me. But...

    Maybe someone can help me?

This is in response to David's question about fields starting at 20000...

Do the numbers ever go above 29999? If not, you could edit the auto-increment field to start with a '2' and have 4 digits after that, so the first entry would be 20001, the next would be 20002, and so forth. Not sure how that would react once you got past 29999 though

    Hi.

    I have a problem, if I have 5 item, counter (id unique) = 5.

Now, if I delete two items, them next id unique = 6, and this should be 4.

This is possible of the other way?

    Thanks!
