Two way sync with Google Apps
AnsweredI have integrated GA with Podio, but when I add contact to Podio, this contact still missing in my contacts on Gmail and next mobile.
Another missing feature is 2-way integration with Google Calendar. I would like to add or delete sth to Google Calendar and have it in PODIO too.

Hey everyone,
I know you are all looking for a full calendar sync between Podio and your external calendar (two-way sync with Google), and I have some cool news to share that will improve your experience today.
It is now possible to edit your Google events directly from Podio calendar. Check out the news here: https://help.podio.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/213037368-10-08-2016-Edit-your-Google-events-directly-from-Podio-calendar-
As always, we appreciate all feedback and inputs. I will be curious to hear if this improvement will help you towards two-way sync and what additional improvements we can add for you?
Have a good day!
Cheers,
Sara - Podio

Yeah I'm sure many people would like that script. It seems quite doable using a third party service like itduzzit, but to make that work someone with a big of experience would have to write the logic to create the Google Calendar event, save the eventid back into a special field in podio, and then when modifications happen on the podio side, lookup the right event and set the details. It doesn't seem complicated I just don't have time to become an itduzzit programmer.

Yup. This 2-way sync case should be developed asap. @Brian Tanner, we checked this tool and this is not working as good, as it should. This, what we did cancel a double events and you can add in Google Calendar something and this thing will appear in PODIO.
But yes, I agree, it should be a basic. And the same thing is with contacts. So maybe let do in this way:
- 2 way sync for contacts from Google Apps just for one workspace. Then I can decide where I related in Podio and who have an access to my contacts. What do you think guys about it?

Seems doable, I just don't have the time to look into it in detail at the moment. also calendar is my main thing, contacts is secondary for us.
How were you doing this before? A PHP script or similar, or a third party service like itduzzit? I wish I knew where to find someone with experience with itduzzit... maybe their website has some suggestions.

Hi Guys,
I would like to show you our Podio Google Spreadsheet 2-ways integration. You will be able to Export your entire Podio Workspaces to Google Spreadsheets automatically, with no clicks (Auto Upload and Download).
Check this out and leave me your thoughts:

Hi guys!
I'm the CEO of Podbox, an two-way sync platform that is integrated with Google Apps (to sync contacts, calendar will come soon), with many CRMs (Salesforce, Vtiger, Highrise, ...), e-mailing platforms (Mailchimp, Mailjet, Campaign Monitor...) and more.
We are currently building the Podio connector with the workspace contacts but there is something very annoying. Your API allows to retrieve, add or delete contacts but the update is not supported. Of course, we could delete and re-create any contacts to update but any additional Podio App may link such a contact and then loose the link.
Is there any plans to add the update feature on this API ?
Thanks for info.

I second, third, and fourth the need for this two-way Google calendar sync. It doesn't make sense that we have to manually move all events already in our company's google calendar to the Podio calendar. Google has a readily available API, that, as Dominique explained, could be utilized.
Sara, can you give us all more information? Thank you!

Hey Dominique,
Would be great if you share this request in the developers Forum instead:
https://help.podio.com/forums/21007072
Then we make sure the right people see it :)

Hey René,
We have a very long to-do list of things that could be great to have. We do plan to integrate in a deeper level with Google in the future but no short-term plans. If you have access to developers you can use our open API: https://developers.podio.com/ to build the integration you like - or contact a Podio partner for help when building it: https://company.podio.com/partners
