First and Last name in contact field

Is no-one missing this??

It is hard to store contact info, like Letters, First name, Last name, in between stuff etc, Title.

When working with API and other programs this is a miss, we always need a second app to provide these.

  Hey there,

  We created the contact field to be as simple as possible and therefore with only first and last name. You can add an extra textfield to add the middle name or adding it to the first name field. Unfortunately I don't have any current solution to this.

  I'm in agreement. Calling this, "simplification," sounds to me like typical end user thinking and not database thinking. Since this product aims to serve many of the roles of a database it really ought to allow for customization of the name fields. Consider anyone collecting names that will be used in a mail merge or email campaign. They cant really come to Podio to manage such things. Consider regional difference in naming conventions (Latin countries with double last names).

  Hi Seth,

  If you prefer to use separate textfields for First Name and Last Name you can also do that instead of using the contact field.

  For this reason we never use contacts. We make our own contacts app. Too bad the build in contacts are an unused feature.

  Please fix this. It's not simple, it is useless especially when you want to sync stuff (i.e. Piesync)
