Hey guys! Wanted to follow up and let you know this is possible now with the new release today :) Now for any field, you can select whether or not to hide the field when empty.

To do it, click the drop down menu to the left of any block in the app template, then check or uncheck "Hidden if empty".

Hope this can help save you some time in your daily processes!

I agree that it's very valuable to indicate when fields are empty, because flagging a key data field as empty prompts users to fill it. An empty data field needs to be obvious and actionable--if a person creates a lead, we want the main view to show which data has been collected and which data needs to be collected on future contacts.

This would be very helpful.   All fields should definitely be shown in maximize view.  It is important for adding App References easily.

It would also be helpful if you could select which fields are shown in in the side panel when setting up the app.

I also would like to see this, either they all are present in the side view (preferred), or a workspace admin can pick which fields are visible and editable in the side panel, or turn on/off a switch for Show All or Show Filled In, something like that.

We are new to Podio but this is definitely something that we feel is lacking.  How does anyone other than the designer of an APP know what information is awaiting entry if we cannot show blank fields or at least set a default value such as "TBC"

It is indeed odd that empty fields are not shown. Personally I would never let this pass the Quality Check.

I have a work around: Export the data to Excel and fill the field with a default value e.g. '-'. Then importing again and all the fields are shown in the sidepanel.

Yes, in the app builder, next to the checkbox "required" there should be a checkbox "always show".

It even gets more odd: when editing a referenced field and remove the last reference the field disappears completely before your eyes. You have to go into the edit mode the fill the field with a new value. Very inefficient. Come on guys, just fixe it. It's a shame this way.

use case: have an existing app, add a status field. To update all data items, the sidebar edit's arrows are very cool. But alas the status field is not editable :-/

Agree completely. I think the ability of selecting which fields are shown in the side panel for a specific app is very necessary.

Please, please do this! It's frustrating for me to have to go in to edit mode to see if there is data missing!

Agreed!I think the ability to make multiple edits on the list would help a lot to speed editing. If I need to change the same information for various contacts need enter one by one.

Yes please, I use Podio with clients who don't know all the ins and outs of the Podio interface. So they don't click the edit button and therefore don't answer questions that are designed for them to fill out.

Hey folks at Podio: You could save a lot of space in the side-panel by making the used space of linked contacts and apps much smaller. And then you have enough space to show all fields.

How many users have to vote for this feature? The functionality is horrible when you always have to open the entry.
