archive items
It would be great to be able to archive specific items like deliverables, stories, dev. tasks and, well, actually every item. By archiving an item, it should basically be stored somewhere in the background in a container that is still tied to the app itself, become unreferencable and not visible in any of the views any more. Reports f.e. could still include archived items though if the user wishes.
Now, not only do items keep piling up in the "done" category but with time going on referencing becomes a problem too, as the number of choices keeps increasing.
App archiving is not a solution but a very dirty workaround that brings about many problems when it comes to referencing, reporting, etc.

I've found a decent solution in using GlobiFlow here: http://www.globiflow.com/blog/managing-long-referenced-item-lists-in-podio.php
Note it is a paid third-party service, but it's very robust and flexible, and IMO worth the few bucks a month.

Thanks for all of the votes.
I agree that archiving an item could be useful. The way we think about it is using the category field to mark an item with the relevant status. So when an item is old and need to be archived you mark it "archived" and filter it out of your app view.
I that way the item is still there if you need to pull it up, but it is not disturbing your view.
It's great to get your feedback on this request so we can identify the specific use cases and possibly build the argument for the feature.

Yes, We REALLY need to add archiving of items - this is very necessary to keep our portfolio of projects up to date and organized. When an event or account is closed we need to be able to remove from the list of active projects without deleting the information contained in the project.

For us, archiving seems also as an important feature, as colleagues approach me with that topic.
I already thought of a work around creating a workflow that creates an archive-item in an archive-app or workspace. Only downside is, that in this solution I would lose all the comments and the related tasks. As a use case these would be important information that should also be possible to be archived. Thanks a lot in advance! -
Hi All,
Thanks for all your feedback on the topic of archiving items. This is something that we have planned and we appreciate that many of our users would benefit from this functionality. Once we have a solid timeframe of when this will be achievable we will gladly share this news with all of our users.
Thanks for all the great input on here, we appreciate it greatly.
