I've found a decent solution in using GlobiFlow here: http://www.globiflow.com/blog/managing-long-referenced-item-lists-in-podio.php

Note it is a paid third-party service, but it's very robust and flexible, and IMO worth the few bucks a month.

Thanks for all of the votes.

I agree that archiving an item could be useful. The way we think about it is using the category field to mark an item with the relevant status. So when an item is old and need to be archived you mark it "archived" and filter it out of your app view.

I that way the item is still there if you need to pull it up, but it is not disturbing your view.

It's great to get your feedback on this request so we can identify the specific use cases and possibly build the argument for the feature.

Surprising that archiving is not available! All competing companies have them as a basic requirement. Please us know if this issue is resolved.

the solution to mark an item as completed works within the app itself. When i make an app within another reference i see all items, even items that have a completed status. Have you solved this problem?

That's great to hear, we are new to Podio as an organisation and this question has already come up. I really hope you manage to add this feature soon.

Yes, We REALLY need to add archiving of items - this is very necessary to keep our portfolio of projects up to date and organized. When an event or account is closed we need to be able to remove from the list of active projects without deleting the information contained in the project.

For us, archiving seems also as an important feature, as colleagues approach me with that topic.
I already thought of a work around creating a workflow that creates an archive-item in an archive-app or workspace. Only downside is, that in this solution I would lose all the comments and the related tasks. As a use case these would be important information that should also be possible to be archived. Thanks a lot in advance!

    Hi All,

Thanks for all your feedback on the topic of archiving items. This is something that we have planned and we appreciate that many of our users would benefit from this functionality. Once we have a solid timeframe of when this will be achievable we will gladly share this news with all of our users.

Thanks for all the great input on here, we appreciate it greatly.

The main issues for us is search. If you could remove an item from search that would suffice.

So any thing that you mark as archived does not show up in any search, but with an added option to search archived items too.

This is a must have or we will have to abandon Podio within the year as it will fill up with old data no longer relevant to our current activities.

    Hi Jack.

The solution we found is by using globiflow to clone items to another Archiving App, so when the original item is deleted, we still have record of it, but it stays out of the way.

  • Glad to hear Aaron. Globiflow is also a part of Podio now - so it is no longer a third-party service and available for all users on Premium plan. Welcome back :)
