archive items
It would be great to be able to archive specific items like deliverables, stories, dev. tasks and, well, actually every item. By archiving an item, it should basically be stored somewhere in the background in a container that is still tied to the app itself, become unreferencable and not visible in any of the views any more. Reports f.e. could still include archived items though if the user wishes.
Now, not only do items keep piling up in the "done" category but with time going on referencing becomes a problem too, as the number of choices keeps increasing.
App archiving is not a solution but a very dirty workaround that brings about many problems when it comes to referencing, reporting, etc.

Hi all,
Since earlier this year, you can now filter relationship fields in Podio!
By using filters in the App view, you can now filter out certain items from your apps by saving a view of your liking and use that for filtering in the app template.
This will give you a better way of archiving app items and decide only to have active items show up in your relationships.

+1 . i strongly needed this, again.. it would be great to archive any item in different apps with just one click, so that we will not need to archive same item in every different app, again and again. Let's say you record staff names in app NAMES, in another app - say HEALTH RECORDS - you record the ages of the staff which is gathered from NAMES. and lets say, staff A left the job. my point is that:** i must be able to archive all items related with staff A with just one click.** if i click archive staff A in app NAMES, none of the reports of HEALTH RECORDS should show staff A, unless otherwise pointed specifically. i hope it is clear. thank you.

Hello Podios!
Archiving is a must, and becomes an absolute must as users accumulate "items". Filtering out "inactive" items is a very clumsy workaround, as you need to apply an extra filter every time you create/use a view.
Frankly, the question is whether your marketing strategy relies on people looking at your opening page and signing up - or you'd rather keep existing users happy, causing them to make Podio "viral" if they are:-)
Best of luck,
Ilya

Having used Podio for almost a year now, with a lot of active apps and discussions, we're seriously considering switching if the archiving is not resolved within a short and defined time frame.
Dear Podios, it's hardly an impossible task - are you guys just ignoring the (very real) needs of your customers - or are you simply aiming at much smaller organizations?
