I am studying Podio as a platform. I seem to understand from the docs that coding business logic /in/ a podio app is impossible. Is that correct?
Webhooks offer simple signals sent out from podio to different webservices upon events in podio, but I see no way to retrieve any return values from these hooks, and use them in a meaningful way back in podio.
This would mean that for any non-trivial integration, eg. displaying for a Contact I'm viewing in podio what the last mailchimp newletter s/he read was, I have four options:
Hope that a useful Mailchimp integration app in podio already exists, and that I would be able to drag'n'drop it into usefulness for my context.
Hope that Mailchimp allows me to call the Podio API in a non-trivial way when anyone reads any of my newsletters.
Depend on external integration services such as Zapier.
Build my own application (web- or otherwise) to pull information from mailchimp, and call Podio's api to write it into Podio.
Is this a correct understanding of Podio's platform architecture?
