Unfortunately, once you delete data in Podio it's gone. That's why we display warnings in the Podio user interface before you delete any content.

    All the best,

    Andreas

So can I just confirm that if a disgruntled member of staff or a hacker deleted everything you have no backups and I would be left with nothing? There isn't even a 3 day grace period?

    This could kill a business!

On that note. I just deleted an app ten minutes ago after cloning it and lost all the data. I know you put up a warning sign but the human mind works in mysterious ways.

You must be getting thousands of these calls. And in no way do you have the ability to track a profiles data history?? I would be for ever thankful!

    Kind regards

This is actually pretty poor and I am genuinely surprised. As per Kenny Goodman's post I do indeed have a disgruntled employee that had admin roles in one workspace and has been causing merry hell (I just removed his admin rights so he cant keep booting members and crying 'accident') but now not only can I not audit his changes but I cant recover them.

I am about to change companies and would have used Podio in my new firm but now I will have to have a re-think. This is such a shame as the tool is so good in many other ways.

    Dear Podio,

A few suggestions. First of all communication and information is pretty important for business customers, so I would advise you to come up with some sort of answer or comment to this issue about why you can't or won't implement this feature - or if it is under development. I will at least hesitate to recommend Podio as a business tool, as long as this "basic" feature is missing. It depends on the kind of business.

A first step would be to add a note to the warning what you actually are about to delete. I have a few times happened to delete the wrong item and that might have helped.

Regarding the undelete/recycle bin, I think it would be pretty easy to add an extra (internal) field to mark if an item is deleted or not, and then deleted items could be found as an option under the wrench menu for each app.

    Best regards,
    Patrik

I agree, it really really sucks there is no bin or undo function. I just deleted a task which I thought was something else, and lost an hour of work and an entire conversation.

Come on Podio, let's fix this!

Even if we just have 10 minutes to recover an item that would already really help.

I second this feature request. It's a major problem.

To be clear, warnings are displayed for many items before you deleted. NO warning is displayed when the trash can is clicked to delete a task. I intended to delete a task, but didn't consider the comments on the tasks that had value.

Yes, we need a recovery mechanism. I just deleted an app item and Podio also deleted all related tasks. Not removed the tasks' relationship to the app item -- deleted the tasks themselves. This is a pretty serious issue, and now with no way to recover them, those tasks are gone.

Years ago and nothing has be done. I think an integrated trash would be solve this discussion. active collab use this since many years.

Podio - has this been resolved yet?

Not good to ignore this request for 3 years !!!

Once again, I go looking for something that is basic functionality and it turns out the team at Podio just simply ignore the need for it and refuse to give a reason why.

I used to recommend Podio to all my clients, and I no longer can. Between no being able to limit who can see apps, not being able to archive chat conversations and not being able to undelete accidentally deleted tasks.... I can't honestly give my recommendation.

It baffles me how Podio is constantly sabotaging their chances of becoming a popular product. You have the best potential but as a comment above me said - you keep failing at freaking BASICS.

Result: only NICHE users can actually use your product vs podio being perfect for everybody (as it's sandbox nature would suggest).

Upvote for this feature... allthough, it will never happen most likely.
