is it possible to programmaticaly create my own app building block so that it appears among the other building blocks and is put to you when running an app and instantiating app items?

  Daniel,

  The API doesn't allow you the ability to insert anything into the UI of Podio itself... anything visual you have to create in your own separate app...

  @Patrick: Any chance you are planning on adding this as a feature in the long run? E.g. have a look at how Orchard CMS is doing it, where you can even add custom content to existing building bricks. I'm not saying you should go that far, only that, allowing for custom building bricks, would add a whole new level of customizeability and probably activity in the marketplace as well. :)
