Please provide more details into what you are trying to do and what the problem is. Items follow the structure of apps, and email addresses could be present both in text fields or contact fields.

If you have code and the output that looks encoded to you please provide this also.

We want to create a ticket system. When someone add a new item to our Podio Ticket app, we want to send an email (with a webhook) to our support division with the item body tekst and we want to use the item emailaddress as sender, so when they reply the email, the mail is added to the podio item.

Sorry, that's not currently possible. You can create new items using email-to-app, but responding to an email and get the response added as a comment on item is currently only possible for emails generated by our system. The response email is tied to event that triggered the email and not the item itself, so we don't have a general email-to-item address.

I'll add a feature request for making this possible, as your use case is something we would like to support in the future.

Thanks for the answer. Can you explain how the tool http://www.podiotools.com/PodioTools/podio-helpdesk-and-more-podio-tools-by-infranet is working if this is not possible by the api?

    Hi Chris,

PodioTools run their own mail server. They do not use the Podio-provided email adresses but provider their own. So they can have access to what's sent and received.

PodioTools is a nice addon, but I found out is has nothing to do with my question.  When I add an 'normal' item to a Podio app, I get a notification mail from Podio (basic functionality). When I reply this mail with my mailclient, the content of the reply is added to this specific item in Podio, so technically you can send a mail to a Podio item. The problem is how to get / generate this .

Chris, I'll repeat my previous reply so you don't waste your time looking for an email address that doesn't exist.

Technically you can send a mail to a Podio notification, not an item. It ends up on the item when the notification is on an item, yes, but there is no fixed email address for an item you can use, the email is different and unique for each notification.

An item-specific email is something we would like to add, it's written down as a feature request, but at the moment you will have to use the same approach as Podiotools; setup your own email address and comment on the item via the API.

And just to clarify... PodioTools can indeed produce an email address that is unique per each Podio Item... whether the item was created by PodioTools or not... :)

It says someone from the podio team built the podiotool.

Is there any support?  I sent email and got no response.

I want to remove podiotools. I tried everything, deleted the bookmark, logged out and in again, revoked access nothing seems to work. Can someone provide a step by step to remove it please?

    Thank you very much.

    Hi Paulo,

podiotools.com is not made by Podio, so us at Podio can't offer support on it. It's made by Patrick Steil who is active in the thread above. You should be able to contact him at support@podiotools.com

    All the best,

    Andreas

Man.... I understand you work at this company.

Look, I won't go bla bla bla here. It wasn't just one time.  I tried help for 3 times about 2 different topics. I just got response from the Podio team. Someone called Zach on your team ????

I can forward all the emails to Mr. Andreas and take this offline.

Well... I'm not taking this neither offline. Stops here. I won't waste a single minute anymore. Take care of your clients, hire a support team.

Thanks for the response. I was able to uninstall it.

    Have a nice day.

We just launched http://www.podiomail.com and it also allows you to email directly to an item.
