Automatically creating a new app from a separate app webform submission?

    Hi Russel,

This is not something you can do out of the box, but it's certainly possible to write an API integration that would handle it for you. You can use webhooks to 'listen' for changes in apps and then act accordingly (copy content over and whatnot). We have a description of webhooks at https://developers.podio.com/examples/webhooks

Are there any developers that could help me put this together? I'm not sure how it works. Thanks.

@Andreas What you're saying though is a webform submission can automatically create a new app item in a completely separate app? How hard would it be and how long would it take for a developer to put the webhook together? I need to find someone that can do it. Thanks.

    Hi Russel,

We are very close to putting up a partner website that will list our new Podio Partners (details: http://blog.podio.com/2012/11/29/partners/ ). When that goes live you can browse all our partners and see who you would like to work with. If you are in a hurry you can contact support@podio.com for a referral.

As for time estimates I cannot give you one. They vary so much from programmer to programmer and it depends a lot on whether you get someone who has previous experience with Podio and what their general skill level is. I can only say that this is not a complicated problem to solve.

    /Andreas

We have the exact same requirement.  Russel, did you find a solution?

No solution yet. I think there might be a way to program something that does this. It would be great. But I don't think it's going to happen any time soon. So we've changed our workflow to avoid needing this functionality.

You might try Anders Bendix Kiel (anders@bendixkiel.org) who can do anything ever asked of Podio.  His company is based in Denmark (as is Podio); he speaks perfect English and is one of Podio's main support companies.

Anders' quotation for API programming to meet our requirements was more than we can afford right now, but in your case he just might be your answer.  Tell him I recommended him :)
