XLSX export and APP auth

Hi, I'm using the PHP function to export to excel:

$api->item->xlsx(APP_ID);

When I use APP authentication I receive an authentication error, but same method works fine using username/password authentication.

Is this to be expected?

  Excel export is not available when logged in as an app. This is mostly for technical reasons, but also for some security reasons.

  So yes, this is to be expected.

  Btw, only methods specifically marked with "App Authentication" in the documentation supports this authentication method.

  Casper,

  in the ExportItems session says that APP Authentication, but, doesn't work. With User authentication, one error is hapenning too. "unexpected error".

  Hi Bruno,

  We changed things a while back, but the documentation never got updated. App export is not available for app authentication. I'm sorry for the confusion.

  About the error using User authentication, can you see if has any problem?  "unexpected error" for me mean nothing.

  What it your entire request (URL and body) and the entire response (HTTP body). Without those it's hard to figure out what could be wrong.

  Hi Bruno

  An "unexpected error" is always logged and I look for any of those errors every day. I can't see anything that matches the operation you were trying, so it would be good to know exactly what request you made, the response you got and the exact time when you did it (including timezone).
