New Item Activity Streams, a few suggestions

In addition: I overlooked that the comments are indeed in between the activity. But as I overlooked it this is a clear evidence that the layout of mixing activity and comments makes it less readable. The comments are simply not outlined enough. They are just plain text within a list of changes.

In my opinion this not makes things better.

I found what's wrong: when changes and comments are in one session they are displayed in one row. See screendump.

Still a big request for reversing the order.

The same big request for editing the comments. When I make a typo mistake I even can't correct this.

    Hi, thanks for writing.

We're not convinced comments-only is the view people are most interested in but we'll monitor use and make changes accordingly.

The grouping puts actions / comments from the same user under one profile image (which we think woks well, but we have a few potential tweaks for making the comments stand out more - in some cases, they do admitteldly get a little lost.

As for reversing the order, we don't think it would work very well with the reading direction and the live pushes, but we're handling the underlying issue (that you want to see the most recent actions in plain view) in another way in a later release. Stay tuned :)

    Anders,

I think you might have mentioned it here above.  But i just want to clarify it.  Now that Comments are lumped together based on some time logarithm (I am assuming).  My comments are getting lost in with the prior comment.  There needs to be a line or something separating the prior comment from the current comment because now it looks like it is part of the prior one, when in fact it is not at all.  My prior comment on an issue was, in this example, an email to a customer and then the additional comment I made is a note to myself about something else on the issue.  This makes it difficult to read as well, can be very bad if I accidentally copied and pasted a comment that had some type of not customer friendly info lumped together....

I really like the tabs of filtering the Activity vs Comments...I really dislike the grouping of the comments together automatically. Please tell me this is being modified soon, or rolled back?

    Thanks

Corey, we're looking into spacing the comments out more at the moment (should be out soon). We'll keep the grouping (no need for separate avatars if it's from the same person) but we'll make sure you can tell the comments apart.

I'm a newb still feeling this out, but I agree with Ron to list the comments in reverse order. I like to use the comments to put in a quick status update with the most recent status listed first.

I would rather see comments as default if were counting votes :0)

I am now used to having to click on Comments and scroll to the bottom, though like Ron, I wish this was the default.
Also, though I am used to this, it is very unfriendly to the team members who don't live in Podio all day. They get confused and frustrated not knowing where to start reading. It would be great to be able to set your viewing preferences. I would set to default just to Comments and with the most recent comment displayed at the top. Thanks!

I agree with Ron (and the others who have commented on this question). Comments as default and in reversed order would be great. The other way around is not user friendly at all.
