Quarterly reports

Hi there guys

I am trying to create a tile for my 'sales' app that shows all closed sales for a quarter. Since i am migrating data from salesforce, I am using the 'fiscal quarter' field that salesforce exports. I have in turn, made these values into a 'category' field in Podio.

So this all works as expected, however when i create the report in the 'tile' the quarters don't sort as expected. The field that has data direct from salesforce sorts VERY strangely (see attached pic called salesforce).

Then i created a new field with my OWN category values for quarters and it also sorts strangely...albeit this makes sense (see the new field picture attached). In this field it sorts year then quarter....but i'd LIKE it to show the CURRENT quarter first (so the reverse sort)

So my questions are:

Is there anyway to control the way category fields sort?

Is there another way to create this kind of quarterly report (ideally we could just use the date field that we are using already rather than a specific field...aka how salesforce does it...you don't need to tell it which quarter it falls in.)

I'm sure there is an easy way to do this, i just can't see it (yet!)
