I have a need to 'share' items from apps with clients...however I don't want them to be able to MODIFY any information in the app...i want them to be able to 'approve' or reject' the item and leave comments.
The use case is for quote approvals.
Sales uploads a PDF to the sales app in my workspace and then shares this item to the client. Client logs in and previews PDF and makes comments. When they are happy they hit the 'accept' button and we get to work.
Initially (and the default setting for apps) has this setup so that ANYONE sharing an app can MODIFY the information in an item (even if they are external to your org). Britt showed me that when you setup an app you can change this by:
Modifying your app
Selecting the 'interaction' section at the bottom of the page
Unchecking the "Let members edit items in this app" box.
Save the app.
I have attached a screen grab for clarity.
The one caveat with this is that now any other users in your org ALSO can't change the item (except for admins and the creator of the item) which works in our case but maybe not for everyone!
