The recent UI changes to Podio are great in general, but they're very poorly adapted to smaller screens, or browser windows that aren't full-width windows. It could be fixed - please do!
What I really want to say on the matter:
Podio recently launched some changes to the UI, and for the most part I love them. For example, much more of my screen real-estate is now available to actually use for working, instead of showing a bunch of workspaces of which I only need to see one or two at the moment - and they are easily accessible anyway, thanks to the keyboard shortcuts.
However, there are some minor issues with the new UI as well. Easily fixed issues, I believe, but yet they are quite annoying right now.
The problem is mainly in the CSS of the site. Because of the way the new UI has been coded, your screen - and your browser window - _must _be 1080 pixels wide for all controls to be visible. If it's narrower, the menu on the top right is pushed off the edge, as are some of the controls in the quick-edit view that pops up when you select an item in an app.
"So what?" you say. "No one has a smaller screen than that anymore." Sure. But with my screen - a 15.4'' laptop widescreen with full HD resolution - I have enough screen width to sometimes want to work with two windows side by side. Since my screen has a horizontal resolution of 1920 pixels - standard for high-quality laptops - this is not enough to fit two Podio windows side by side. And it greatly reduces my efficiency with Podio, since I now have to Alt+Tab between windows all the time, instead of having everything accessible at once.
You don't have to move anything anywhere when the window is wide enough - but it would be great if you could make the UI a little more fluent, so that it better adapts to smaller windows.
Keep up the good work!
