How to have apps shared between workspaces?

Maybe I'm missing the obvious, which it might be, but how do you have a single app be able to be shown and share data within two separate workspaces?

Thanks!

Thanks Jacquelyn, but that serves no real purpose in creating  true integrated and transparent workspaces, which is necessary for some teams. being able to have a single app show it's data on two, three, or even four different workspaces should be a default feature.

Sorry to say, but Podio just doesn't "fit".

Thanks for the reply.

Mike, I fully agree. We need the ability to have central data shared across workspaces. Thanks for your comments.

Is there any future development planned for this? Its the first hole I noticed when signing up for podio... and its a big one.

This would be really useful.  Especially when you have to deal with multiple projects, which is our case, and need to keep track of all projects (each one has its own workspace) in one place.

Bump for this. It would indeed be an essential feature. We are currently testing out Podio for PM and CRM, and would really like to know if there is any development in this area, before making a decision on whether to continue using it.

It should be a default major feature, as this would allow integration of actual business processes. Like a mini Enterprise System. Would be quite awesome as a consultant to have this centralization of data.

I totally agree. In a flexible platform like Podio there should be a flexibility of having a default Workspace with (controlled) access to centralized data by all other Workspaces. An example: I've just created a training document I'd like most (or all) of my workspaces to have access to. There is no easy way of doing it with out lots of manual work.

Furthermore, hugely important aspect of perfecting the workflow is modifying apps. Again, if I want to make a change to an app, I have to make the change manually in ALL workspaces, if I want to keep it consistent and clean. Doing it many times over is just inflexible and inefficient. Why not have a centralized access to all apps used by an organization with the option to make a change to a default app template?

How do you guys currently deal with updating apps across the organization? Am I missing something?

Has this been corrected?  I am a new user, and 30 minutes in I discovered I couldn't see an apps data from different work-spaces.  What is the status?

Hi Jacquelyn, Any change about this? Can I share data between different workspace?

If no, what is the point of having different workspaces if you can´t share data synchronized?

It depends on your use case. You can share data across workspaces between apps which have a relation by using calculation fields and you can share and sync data between unrelated apps with the extension Globiflow.

I would also need to sync calendars between spaces. Having an organization level should allow for such feature.

Hi Mike, check this out: https://workspacesync.com/

I shared this in another thread earlier...

We run a digital agency and we utilize one individual workspace per client. We do this so that we can invite the client team and third parties into that workspace - for that client only - without exposing them to the other client workspaces. Then, using the Workspace Sync extension, we can see and edit all of the data across all of our podio workspaces from one dashboard. This way we can manage everything in from one screen without having to bounce between workspaces.

Maybe you have a similar setup? At any rate, I encourage you to check out Workspace Sync. We built it to solve the major problem of bouncing between workspaces. If it works for you, great! If it needs to be tweaked in any way to meet your needs, please let me know and we'll see if we can accommodate. We are trying to make it better for a wider audience.

Cheers!

DJ Esquivel--let me see if I correctly understand how WorkspaceSync works...or if it would suffice for my need. :)

I have multiple sources feeding my dataset via webform. I'd like to create a workspace for each source to track from where the data is being entered (for a variety of reasons). I'd like to be able to see ALL my datasets also in one workspace to export and sort, manipulate, etc. WorkspaceSync would do this? And any data I manipulate across the various workspaces would push the others or no, and changes would then have to be made in the respective workspace?

Thank you in advance!

Olivia C Aiello - regarding your questions:

I'd like to be able to see ALL my datasets also in one workspace to export and sort, manipulate, etc. WorkspaceSync would do this?

> YES

And any data I manipulate across the various workspaces would push the others or no, and changes would then have to be made in the respective workspace?

> In Workspace Sync, you can edit all of fields in your Apps, for any Podio workspace in Workspace Sync, and the changes are automatically pushed back to those items in Podio. However, you cannot make an edit to one item in one workspace and have it pushed back to multiple workspaces in Podio. -Lmk if I'm not understanding your question fully...

I highly recommend signing up for the free trial so you can test drive it and see it in action :]
