I have been trying to figure out the same thing... did you ever have any luck figuring this out?

Christina - Nope, we are just using the spreadsheet as the master list of project milestones, and using podio for specific action items related to those milestones.

Amie - thanks for replying.  It looks like that's the direction we're going to have to go too.  It's amazing that something so powerful can't manage something simple like cloning a deliverable and including the tasks at the very least.  Even if it had to be typed in originally - at least then it would only need to be done once.

    Hey guys,

I would recommend that you build a task app instead? Then you can import tasks via excel and link the tasks to your projects via the  app reference function: https://help.podio.com/entries/21683251-app-references

We see tasks in Podio kind of like "subtasks" since they should and can be related to real tasks created in the apps. Lets say you have a project or deliverable app. You create app items as deliverables (overall tasks) - then you can relate tasks as actions or small to-dos to each deliverable or project.

Here is a blog post on how tasks can be used: http://blog.podio.com/2011/06/10/podio-and-gtd/

Thank you, Sara, for the task app idea - I have been looking for a solution for the same type of thing - applying a set of tasks to a project automatically upon project creation. I will check into the links you sent and give my feedback here.

Okay, I have created a Deliverable, for example, and have added a list of tasks to that deliverable. I can reference that deliverable set to my project, but the challenge is still this:
    - the tasks are linked to that deliverable, so I would need to create a new deliverable for each new project in order to properly track progress on an individual project
    - I can clone the deliverable, but the tasks do not copy over
    - The only solution I see at present is to create a template as a project app that includes the tasks associated with a project I have created under it, and then clone that app, which then clones all of the tasks created within that sub-project. Then, I would need to go into that newly cloned project app and the sub-projects and define specifics such as dates due, etc.

Am I on the right track here?

There's a Zapier zap for transferring Google tasks to Podio (https://podio.com/market/apps/69502-?_ga=1.205581587.1869068983.1405930905) and Google tasks can be imported from CSV format.

So, it's very awkward, but I imagine you could put a long list of tasks in the right format CSV file, import to Google Tasks, and then let Zapier transfer them to Podio. NB: I haven't tried this myself!!
