This would be a major timesaver for sure.

So it isn't possible to change the fields that show up in the preview pane?

I agree that each field should have a "show in quick preview" option... being forced to edit an item just because a field is null or empty ruins the speed and flow of my work :(

    An answer from Adrian Griffith

    Two possible workarounds for you...

    a) If you're updating Category fields, use card layout with your category as the column value. Then you can just drag and drop to update the category field without the need to open each item.

    b) If you're working with a set of data that does not have comments or images, you can export and re-import the items. Before you re-import, add placeholder values for all fields. Once they have a value, they will appear in the preview panel.

Thanks for those possible workarounds Adrian... I can definitely utilize them in "some" apps.

However, neither workaround will fix the issue for case a) when you don't want a card layout, or case b) if you want the quick preview item to be: assigning a specific person or reference... unless you want to create a placeholder person which takes up space in your employee network (and unfortunately, we are at the max for free).  Really, any reference to other areas in the app would require "blank/empty" placeholders, which would make things rather messy and not very uniform (for me at least).

I really need this to. One major reason is the "autosave" that happens in the preview pain. It's just way faster than saving a form.

Mikael's suggestion for updating category fields sounds great (thanks Mikael), but for me it only seems to work if the top of my screen is in view, otherwise it wont save.  This limits you to the top ~10 entries.  Has anyone else tried this method?
