At least it would be good to have a local backup copy of data/applications in case of loss of network connection?

I really would love to have offline mode. Is there any plan to develop in 2015?

We might have to change away from Podio, because of the risk if the business lose it's internet connection, we're stuck in the water as all our data is on Podio.

it's imperative a business has offline mode for productivity when there's down time.

Hi. No offline access - No Podio. As simple as that.

So I go to a meeting, I need a client or project data, there is no internet at the place or the mobile communication is not great (Which is very common by the way), so I can't be effective and get to my Data when I need it. Then why use Podio?

I am about to get on two 10 hour flights and was planning to keep on working on Podio, to define how we would use it. I never thought that there was no offline mode (How could that be!)

Please let us know when you have this feature, until then, Podio will not make it for us. Thanks

From reading the 64 answers before me, it seems that a) this is a function that a lot of people share and are very surprised isn't supported, b) is provided a lot of other similar cloud-based work systems, and c) isn't hard to implement if the brief is right.

    I have a suggested "solution".

    1) A setting on your Podio profile/hardware specific, that enables you to cache the last X amount of data that you access or choose to 'download' on a FIFO basis, e.g. sync 1gb on my laptop, 100mb on my phone, 500mb on my ipad etc
    2) Access to the data from 1) is on a read only basis: you can't update it - this removes data conflict issues from other online users making changes whilst offline changes are being made (or not, if this set up is used)
    3) Offline access only allows users to CREATE new things in apps, e.g. to add a comment, add a client record, create a task for a colleague etc

Whilst not an ideal solution (as the ideal is a dropbox-esque level of syncing, conflict resolution, version tracking kind of set up), it goes a long way to addressing the majority of needs of those who have commented before me I feel.

    I welcome your thoughts...

    Hi Pete,

I think, that would be a good solution I would be very happy with.
Hope, the Podio-Team will not only think about but implement within the next months.

Offline capabilities are a must. We work in areas that do not have wifi or cellular coverage. House to house surveys in small remote villages, project updates on construction sites. All of these need offline input.

Please take the offline option into consideration! More than willing to support the effort!

In this age of internet speed and stability, many developers ignore the fact that our reliance on our ability to remain connected can be our biggest weakness. Hosting services often use their "99.9%" uptime as a marketing point - but people don't realize, or ignore the fact, that most downtime happens on the client side. Sure data centers have onsite technicians working 24/7, but all small business owners are aware of the turn-around time with their ISP when it comes to an internet outage.

Google made their Apps available offline; why can't Podio?

More than anything else, this would make Podio easier to use for me. Please develop it as a priority!

This needs to be done! When I travel for work in Canada from the US, I do not have access to polio at all. It is extremely frustrating to try and look up a client or company and I cannot access them. Offline Podio is a huge deal.

Living in a developing country in SE Asia we have limited at best. We are committed to Podio, but are saddened by the lack of Offline functionality. I truly believe this would be a huge productivity booste for our team. I know the website is sleek, but we still spend half our time just waiting for webpages to load due to extremely slow internet. Please help us if you can! Don't just put it in the realm of a problem of early slow internet years. Much of the world is still just getting access to the internet and has spotty slow internet. We need tools that work in the majority of the world.

Currently, Podio functions entirely as cloud software; where all information is stored and processed "server-side". To move that functionality to the "client-side", the Podio platform would essentially need to be re-written and compiled for cross-platform compatibility across today's popular devices. This would also require a new team of developers to create, maintain and update "Podio Offline".

Considering that Podio is backed by Citrix, and there is an obvious interest from the community, this should be pretty easy to accomplish. You are guaranteed that the "Podio Offline team" would quickly pay for itself as new subscribers join, enticed by offline capability. Can't you see you're missing out on potential revenue simply because you're missing this critical feature?

The missing offline mode is a shootout for working with POPIO.
Until this feature is not implemented, PODIO is no option for me.
    Sorry :-(

    Another vote for this.

We use Podio as a CRM and project management tool. When we visit clients at their offices, it can be a real hassle to connect to their private Wi-Fi to reference information stored in Podio. We also need to look up information while in the field. There wouldn't have to be any interactivity - just an offline read-only mode would do wonders.

    Thanks for your consideration.
