    And another +1.

I believe there is work done on this feature. Hope to see it release soon.

    Keep up the good work!

    And another +1

Becoming less useful without this feature as more items are added.

    Any ETA yet?

This still seems to be a low priority for the Podio team - they mentioned to me in the past that they don't want to make the app reference linking too complex (and make it into a relational database system)

Would be great that you can put the filter when you are at the app creation, at the app reference item. So when you reference something, would just appear the ones that are filtered.

    +1 for that

    +1.

Just discovered the need for this one as we record all our employees' information in 1 app, then they record their hours in another app that references the Employees App. Employee quits, they're still sitting on the list unless we delete their info. But we need their info for tax purposes, future reference, etc. Don't want to delete them, but don't want them showing up in the list of employees either.

    Thanks.

    +1.

    Usecase:

Employees adds billable hours (hours app) per project (project app) on weekly basis. In invoice app hours-tems are collected as references. As you imagine there will be huge amount of weekly-hours-items that are not needed to show in invoice app more than once.

So filtering or archiving would be needed.

It is also an issue in terms of events if you send out a webform through Podio. I see no way of archiving past events, so they do not occur on the list that my participants have to choose from. And so the list continues to grow

I have a webform that references job openings (items in an app). Once position is filled, I'd like to archive or deactivate the listing from my webform (app reference to job openings) but keep the information in tact for when I hire for the same position in the future. Currently I have a webform that has a drop down list of the current available positions and I don't want someone to apply for a position if its been filled... +infinity

+1 It seems somebody is "adding 1" to this request every week for a year... still nothing? A filter would be sooo nice.

This is one of many necessary features to enable Podio usage for larger organizations.  Unfortunately the Podio development process is nearly completely hidden and all a user can do is "Hope" something is in the development pipeline.

They have a nice feature request list in the support section to make it feel like they're listening, but they don't provide any feedback on what's being considered, planned, or completed.

Todd, that being said, everyone on this thread should go add to this feature request to bump it up and get their attention:  https://help.podio.com/entries/23383787-pre-filter-app-reference-field?page=1#post_24425727

So true John. And there are many other obvious threads that need to be improved.

I think it's time to say it - Citrix is the worst thing ever to happen to Podio. Since they took over, I've seen* very little* good adjustments to the product, and a few things I'd rather had never been done. It's obvious they bought it to sell their other products to Podio customers, not because they liked the Podio product or because they wanted to improve it. It's like a ketchup company buying a restaurant chain to sell more ketchup.

When it was just a small, scrappy company we saw awesome improvements every 3 - 6 months. 2013 has been a dead zone. Even Gustav stopped checking in to update us. Did they fire Gustav?

John...I bumped yours, but I should have also said the feature request system is like the wild-wild-west as well.

Take a minute and search the request forum for app filtering and/or archiving and you'll find many request for the feature.  Just more evidence they need better management and visibility of the development road-map.

I hope this is moving up the priority list for feature requests. Seems like many of us are asking for it!

+1 for me too. Podio could lead the CRM world if just -- well you need to evolve and grow en develop fast to stay ahead I guess.

Yeah - I feel like I have started a little club here.

A year on and we are still using podio - and still feel the lack of this feature is hindering us.

It's interesting how there can be such strong support for certain features when a company opens the door for feedback, yet the development process remains in the dark.

I'm following a similar feed on Wave Accounting where users have been asking for an API and told that there's one in development. It's been nearly a year and the initial release doesn't come close to meeting any basic needs the users asked for. Instead, it's aimed at app specific development for Wave to partner with other companies.

When it comes down to it, companies like Wave and Podio get the call the shots for their own development. Unfortunately, it seldom falls in line with the feedback they're receiving about their product. In fact, most of the development is geared towards increasing profit for the company.

If there were a better mechanisms to monetize new features that have risen to the top of users' priority, we could transcend the feedback impasse we're experiencing here and elsewhere.

Our team has waited quite some time for this feature as it really is a game changer.  We got to the point where the amount of data we had to sift through was taking longer than the value the tool brought.  We still use Podio for minor things but have transitioned all of our PM to TeamBox as this does not seem to be getting fixed anytime soon.
