Overview of data from different apps
AnsweredApps are a great way to organise similar blocks of data.
As a result, you might have one app to define your projects.
Another app to manage the budget for the projects.
Another app to brainstorm about he projects.
Every time, your first field being the project number.
Now what if you want an overview of a certain project, combining all data spread over the different apps?
Well, basically, the "activity" app already combines all data from a workspace. Only, you are limited to the "activity stream" view.
So imagine applying the new filters and views to the activity app:
You would be able to make a filter per project, seeing only the activity for a specific project. Or even change the view to badge, table card, getting a clear dashboard for a certain project.

Add me to the list of people who think a Podio Dashboard is what would take Podio to the next level.
With multiple organizations, workspaces and apps, I need a way to display an overview of everything (that is important).
A little calendar area that shows everything that has been assigned a due date and that I am responsible for. Tasks, Meetings, deliverables....everything. An area displaying upcoming tasks that I'm assigned that are due.
Is it possible for a 3rd party developer to create something like this?

We were quite serious about switching to Podio and I have spent two weeks studying it (now we are on Trello, Evernote and Fengoffice).
But the reason WE CAN NOT USE PODIO is the absence of efficient control instruments. I think, that you did a great job on your platform, but you dont really care, if the goals are met and duedates followed. You are not able to display all tasks an deliverables on Podio - untill you go to a workspace or a project. If you wan to run your team efficiently , you have no time to go to each workspace to check what is going on. What if you have 20+ workspaces? You would be running around every one and each of them to look if everything is done on time? Even if you would, you wont find out anyway, couse once the overdue task is completed, no record that someone missed the duedate by a year. Without a dashboard with all important informations at one place is Podio a really good toy, but not an instument for managing your team. Like timetracking without stopwatch. Like a workspace files overview without possibility to filter by project. Like no option to use date for calculation. Great ideas finished just half the way to a perfect tool. Wish you get it better soon so we can come back.

Hi think also the dashboard is really necesary indeed...
We have, for instance, an opportunities app wich we can easily control by going to the app and see the "Pending followups" widget we placed on the sidebar...
Buuuut we also have a Support tickets app, and if we don't go there to check what have to be delivered, is easy to overlook a task...
So a unified dashboard where one can place the upcoming tasks, delayed, past... elements would be very helpful to meet our delivery dates!

A configurable dashboard would add a great deal of value. Also the dashboard should have a way to be viewed on the web and from another workspace. If you have access to the workspace clicking on various elements of the workspace would allow you to drill down into views and data.
We all need this and would be glad to help design and test!!!

I went to app.podio-dashboard.com and when I was just playing around with it, my antivirus blocked this:
Details of infection:
URL: http://app.podio-dashboard.com/proxy
Proceso: C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\App...
Infección: JS:Iframe-AMX [Trj]
Looked very good, and don't know if this is a valid process being marked as an infection, but just letting you know. I've revoked the permissions already :(

I have another use case for multi-app overview:
We have different Apps that are used for different kinds of orders, because different information is required depending on the type.
All order apps have a "Category" field that contains the same options: "New", "Submitted", "Pending", and "Complete".
It would be great to be able to pull data from all our "Order" apps into one place, based on the Status "category" field that they all share (like the table view, but with multiple Apps included), so we could see all "New" orders together, instead of having to check each Order App individually.

Hey all
As communicated on our blog (http://blog.podio.com/2013/08/06/welcomehome/) we just released the option to let you customize your Podio Workspaces and Employee Network using flexible tiles, which let you decide what is present on the Home page, what images, app reports, and information to show etc. It is not a complete dashboard, but getting there :)
Hope you like the change!

Sara, Richard hit this issue perfectly. Dept heads, and top level managers really need to be able to look into the different areas of the company to understand who is doign what, and what is getting accomplished.
It is very very difficult for me to keep track of all of the different milestones and then the tasks that might be associated to them. Unless I actively browse through Podio, I find it very difficult to get the view into the company that I really need.
Hope you guys can address! It would be really appreciated.

I also want to add to this chorus. In my organization, I've been somewhat of a lone evangelist in trying to convince my colleagues of Podio's value in project management. While I've had some degree of success, I can't emphasize strongly enough how compelling a multi-app overview would be for folks I'm trying to persuade to buy into the tool.
We are a communications office at a liberal arts college, and we work with a number of clients on various projects that span across a number of apps. A dashboard would be such an incredible value-add.
