How do I see other people's tasks?

I can see all my tasks, by clicking the task button in the top menu bar. Is it possible for others to see my complete task list? Can I see the task lists of others?

I think anything other than fixing the core Tasks function would result in confusion. Too often folks would simply forget to go into an app to add tasks so there is too much overhead in continuosly correcting this, plus the inconsistency, plus...well we could go on at length but there is little point.
We've discussed the situation & recognise that Podio expects people to work in a way which doesn't fit with our needs (and if we are to assume that only 20% of similar people bother to post on here then there are many others like us). Maybe one day Podio will see the light but for now, we can't use it and won't be recommending it to our customers. We are thereore exploring other options now.

I understand the basic idea that tasks app should be used for small ToDo-s and an app for the tasks, but there are strong benefits for using the integrated task system.
- First, it's faster. If I use the create task app, I have to click on the app, then click new task, then remember the reference name the task was for, then enter it into the search field of the reference field (which might have similar names), and then add all the data. This is compared to just pressing T. Does not compare.
- It's more convenient. I already use the structure Project -> Deliverable -> Feature, so there is a linking overhead. When I get into features, I want to see the tasks that were done/remaining related to this feature, not click another app, filter by feature and see the tasks status.
- It's more consistent. If I have tasks already that has recurring tasks, why would I use it if I have to create another task app anyway? This is what it says on tasks tutorial: "Everything is integrated deep into every corner of Podio, so you have all necessary information available when you need to get some work done." Turns out it's not true.
- I am not aware of how to create automatically recurring tasks via the app.
- Podio task gadget for google apps. I'm not using it personally, but it's a feature.
This is a very simple use case scenario. If there is technical possibility to get this done, I would highly advise this be implemented. I have been using Podio for almost a year, and I can tell you what it's lacking compared to other services (that are weaker in other areas). As a typical user, this is what I expect of tasks:
- Current possibilities are very cool.
- Know the tasks of all other people in my workspace, that have created a task as public (eg. Next to delegated tasks make Collaborator's Tasks). There I want to see the due date and the tags of each task. I have tried the "standups" app version, and I'm not really satisfied with results. Tasks can take anywhere from 10 minutes to 3 days in my line of work, so seeing the snapshot of work is important.
- I really like the tags, but it would be nice to be able to track time between the task was created and completed, and more importantly for how long has it been with each tag. Would be nice to have a "working on" check-box, so we know what exactly is being worked on. I can use a tag, I am aware of that. But it would probably make the time tracking easier.
- It would be nice to have a cards view for tasks, based on tags. This "kanban-like" view is very good in the apps section.
- It would be nice to be able to change the tags of other people's tasks, if not the status. I use tags for prority.
I haven't seen updates to many essential features from Podio in a while. Please consider this usage scenario, it's very frequent and Podio would benefit greatly from it. Every bigger organization wants to know what every other team member is working on. To me, this would be an essential feature.
It's about how users want to use the app, not how Podio thinks it's best to use the app. Remember the quote: "Get out of the building" from Steve Blank?

Agreed, we NEED to be able to view other's and all tasks in the same View.
The "Tasks" app is just a list of activities that need to be done - we use this to group review what's going on, and then assign any number of Podio tasks to people to make sure the activity is carried out. This means a small amount of double handling (generate Activity then allocate Tasks to it) but it works; or would work if the manager could view all the team member's tasks.
Your core task system is powerful but needs amended - What's the point in building a powerful task system if you now suggest to not use it.

+1 here, to be able to see other people tasks
the workaround of using an extra app for tasks just makes it more difficult in workflow matters. Just enable the possibility to see everyones tasks and the task management would be much improved. Actually, there is a paid addon for this (http://globaltasklist.com/) so the demand is there. Yet I don't want several addons by 3rd parties and have to pay for them, I want Podio to have it built in :)
