How do I delete contacts?
AnsweredI imported contacts from Gmail. First problem: Podio imported multiple copies of every contact, between 2 and 4 copies each. Second problem: there seems to be no way for me to delete these contacts or consolidate them. Please help! Thanks.

I have a similar problem. All my tags got mashed together when the contacts were imported. (eg: the tag is "A, B, C" instead of three separate tags "A", "B", and "C".)
I need to delete them so I can get them in here correctly. The tags are absolutely critical to how we use the contacts.

Hey, I found this page where I can apparently delete the whole imported group: https://podio.com/settings/connections
This should help with Adam's question as well.

Hey Anthony and Jill,
The contact list in Podio is more a list of your virtual business cards. Podio will remember everyone you interacted with in this list. If you added workspace contacts you can delete and edit those from the workspace contacts section. There is no current way to edit or remove contacts from the top blue bar. We're considering how to solve this going forward.
I'll make sure to keep you updated here.

this is a problem as one member left under a cloud and, every time one of us creates a message, it's unpleasant to have to see that person's name as one of the potential recipients, even though they have been removed from the network. The persistent reminder is not great for morale. A fix in the near future would be greatly appreciated.

more concerning is the damning and detrimental effect these unmanaged threads have on the image of the project, the company and on its partner/sponsor/(owner?), Citrix, of whom I am an enterprise customer.
making matters worse, this is the *official* forum, not an ad-hoc list of trolls and flamers.
perhaps podio team is working on a more comprehensive bulk UPDATE feature, which would indeed take more dev.?

@Mike, I'm not sure I fully understand the gist of your post, but I value Podio's open approach to feedback as I feel there is too much 'management' (i.e., suppression) of users' feedback generally in our era. Anything that is critical of Apple, for instance, is considered a 'rant'. Podio's approach is refreshing and one of the several reasons I value their work. I don't think that a squeaky-clean corporate image is credible these days by critically-minded viewers and, in the presence of experience to the contrary of the image, it simply engenders distrust. Podio's apparent integrity of approach, warts and all, is a valuable model.
Meanwhile, it does require imagining the larger picture and coping with frustrations, such as this, which are indeed irritating. I hope Podio prioritises this particular update.

Hi, I am trying to add a secondary email addresses (@gmail.com ) to several employees, the problem is that I initially had created external contacts associated with these addresses. and now I can not add them to employees that have (@mycompany.com) email.
Any workaround you can suggest until you add the "delete contacts" option?
-
Hi Marc,
If an account was already created for those email addresses, then they'd need to log in and delete the accounts before the email address can be added to their main accounts. Information on this here:

Ladies and Gentlemen,
I am quite new and just at the start I added accidentally a wrong person. If I understand the discussion here well, there is no chance to delete this person from my account? Do I have to close the entire account and open a new one? And this problem persists at least since Sep. 2012?
Thanks a lot,
Bernd

I was experimenting to see if I could add a Google resource calendar (with auto-accept invitations). I added the email for that calendar, but it doesn't appear to recognize Podio invitations. Now I have two problems -- I can't edit the email to add a name to the calendar email -- and I can't seem to delete the email from my contact list to clean it up

Hey all,
We've just released the possibility of removing contacts from the main contact list in Podio. I know you have been asking for the option so I thought I would let you know.
You can now remove the contact if you no longer share a workspace with the person. Click on the contact you want to remove in your global contact list (personal list in top blue bar), then choose "remove contact".
Thanks for your patience.
Cheers,

Hi Sara, great that this is settled now. Just tried this but got an error message "is still part of the employee network" and I cannot remove him from there - so for me it does not work. This is for me essential because in the very beginning I added a wrong person which can be dangerous to be kept - and I cannot go on testing before this is solved.
I feel a bit bound by not being able to correct a wrong activity. What can I do ?
Please advise,
Bernd
