Calendar.
CompletedWe (and many others) have been requesting these features below for a while, is there any timeframe from developers? It's starting to get a little frustrating having to continue using iCal.
- Day, Week & Month views
- Being able to see all recurring appointments in the calendar.
- Calendar Filtering (say you want to see a particular client or staff members calendar alone)
We're very close to leaving Podio because we're a service and appointment-based business. We love every other feature of Podio, but the calendar let's it down.

Hey Tom, I would use a Meetings app for this. Here's how you build event apps: https://help.podio.com/entries/21825106-Event-Apps

The creative designers on our team appreciate the simplicity of Podio but for me as project manager, the calendar (or lack of) is a huge compromise. Not to be the knucklehead to make an insensitive "why can't you just push the button" comment... could it really be so difficult to offer the option of a traditional calendar view? So what if all the bells and whistles functionality that would make it extra cool were introduced later as phase two?
-
Productivity efficiency is extremely difficult with no shared calendar. The list view just isn't effective or worth using.
I'm not sure why they spent time on a redesign and workspace flyout when the product is missing a real calendar... mind boggling.
Look how long it took to make a bulk delete action https://help.podio.com/entries/21724222-How-do-I-delete-many-line-items-at-once-

Hi everyone,
Appreciate your comments and we're sorry we aren't able to share any news with you yet.
We definitely want to address the need for better calendaring and it's something we're looking into (in combination with other aspects of the product). We've had other priorities (trust me, we'd love to do everything at the same time) and preparing some significant improvements that you'll be able to see soon.
We can't comment on the roadmap, however (for a lot of reasons), so you'll have to be patient, I'm afraid.
Again, we are aware of this request, and are thankful you're sharing comments and ideas here.
Thanks,
Anders Pollas, Co-founder, Podio

I hate to say this, but I hadn't even heard of base camp, but will be checking it out based on this thread. I am new to using a crm site. I don't know what podio's "other priorities" are when it comes to making the site easier to use, but the calendar should have been number one. It makes the whole system not user friendly for service/appointment based companies. Main problems? 1- there's no day/week/month view. 2- no option to print the calendar in those views. 3- you can't even view the current calendar in the iPad app, making it difficult for field personnel to utilize the app at all. Everything centers around the calendar, and it is just not usable.

Hey Melinda,
To view you calendar on iPad you can export to iCal and see the calendar from here: https://help.podio.com/entries/21670336-Adding-the-Podio-calendar-to-other-calendars - hope this can be helpful using Podio mobile :)

Calendar is the 1st feature EVERYONE in our company asked about and after initial excitement people are left not so excited after not being able to get a calendar function in their Podio Android/iPhone apps, monthly view on the website and not being able to push their calendars TO PODIO, not just export from Podio. Podio is an awesome idea, but reaching critical mass of acceptance in the company that we will take on paid user seats is daunting without these critical features.

@Gustav @Sara - just in case this thread isn't getting enough traction with the decision makers, here's another along the same lines:

I really surprised when I was looking on how to customize my calendar to see team members in it, and I found this topic!
look at the request ! , request date! and more funny part, the ANSWER!
and today's date...
Maybe it's because you marked it as answered so you removed it from your priorities...
this is ridiculous!

Hi,
I'm with Reza on this. Nobody in Podio is listening . Look at samples of Podio's responses below. They are getting more vague with time. 2nd one below is hard to comprehend. Every time I see new features launched I get excited only to find out its video chat or something not very important. Podio have many of ways of communicating with each user but needs a proper calendar that helps with better planning. Please don't fob us off with dismissive responses .

Our dev team is working hard on a redesign for our Calendar, which will have weekly/monthly view options. No time frame on that release yet, but we are working to get it out as soon as possible!

Hey Gabriele,
We will make sure to post any relevant news when we have something to share! We have planned an improved calendar and meeting function in Podio this year but unfortunately I am not able to promise anything.

Hi Jacquelyn,
I appreciate your activeness :) but I think customers prefer a team, less active but with more useful and helpful answers, rather than a team so active but with answers like "We are not able to.. , we can't tell.. , etc.." which results in having an open request for a basic feature for about a year!!
Your are a company who helps others to manage their projects better , and you don't have any time frame or milestone on your own project? unbelievable!
I can see here a lot of customers (including me) who loves your product and they are so thirsty to use it and enjoy it more than before.
All we need is to be more strait forward with your customers and let us know what's going on back there?
Maybe we can help..! for free :D

No-one's going to make a calendar more advanced that Google Calendar online overnight. I'd rather see tighter integration with Google Calendar with bi-directional syncing and one-to-one, one-to-many and many-to-one calendar syncing.
Don't try and be the best at everything, just be the best at your excellent niche, which is being the best layer on top of Google Apps for organising and sharing data, rather than trying to re-invent wheels.
Horses for courses I guess.
-
Relying on Google is faint assurance. They have their own agenda. Google business is good for marketing Podio not for integration in the long run unless Podio wants to be bought by Google. Podio needs to prioritize the development of requested features and communicate their development calendar to users. If you can't, why not?
-
Hey all! To be very honest this has been on our wish-list the past 2 years and yes, we thought at some point we had the time to make it - but didn't get to it. This is why we prefer not to promise any particular month or date as things can change :) It is not forgotten, trust me, we have it on the roadmap.

Nice to know it's still on your list, but it would be awesome if it could happen soon! For our ops meetings it would be nice to print out a monthly view of our open projects.
The ability to export to iCal and Exchange is wonderful, though. We all use our exchange server so I think that will help out for now.

May I suggest reviewing this UI Javascript Builder could speed up this task greatly: http://demos.kendoui.com/web/scheduler/index.html
