    Hi guys!

We are happy to announce we finally have a solution ready to fix the future repeating events and display an image of your events weeks ahead. This has been long overdue and we hope you will like the new solution.

In the past, we always showed only the next repeating event in your calendar as we wanted to avoid creating unlimited (millions) of future items in the related apps. In that sense, the Podio calendar has always been quite different from calendars you know from iCal, Google etc.

We are minimizing this gap by adding support for viewing future repeating events in your calendars today. This means you will now see the future items in your calendar view to plan and see availability more than just “one week ahead”.

Read more via our blog here.

Is there a possibility to Import calendar entries from my google calendar? Or, if not, will be such a feature available in the next time?

I'm working on multiple projects with various start and end dates over the next several months.  I would love to be able to see my calendar for the whole month or week to see what's coming up.  The kind of calendar view that Outlook currently has.  This is vital for my projects.  I'll become a permanent Podio convert right away if that feature is being worked on.

Our dev team is working hard on a redesign for our Calendar, which will have weekly/monthly view options. No time frame on that release yet, but we are working to get it out as soon as possible!

It's great to hear this is being worked on. I don't mean to be pessimistic, but saying there is no time frame for the release usually means it's months away. When trying to choose between project management tools, this sort of information would be hugely helpful to have to be able to convince people this is the right tool or not.

I agree with that, specially being able to see the month period.

Again, love Podio; however, I used Basecamp extensively in a previous company.  While they certainly have their pros/cons, their Calendar feature was something that I couldn't live without.  I wish Podio to have similar if not better functionality than Basecamp's Calendar view.  It was extremely simple and easy to use while also allowing to assign events or to-dos to team members.

I would gladly move my whole scheduling from google calendar to podio if I could see a month and week view on the calendar. I agree with everyone. Do you have a time frame yet when it will be re-designed?

Love Podio, but would love to have a resource type calendar to schedule and assign events and to do items to team members. Agree with everyone in here. Its so user friendly in every other way. Any time frame yet ?

    No timeframe for this yet.

I have added your input to what we have! Thanks for all the feedback.

I'm demoing podio right now, and I too, come from a basecamp background. was just looking for something that had CRM functionality as well. While it does have that, the calendar is just sad. I feel like I'm reading a rolodex or something. The external calendar feature helps, but the external calendar can't write to it, because it's just a subscription, not a CalDV account. This has to be the most awkward and weakest calendar I've seen on any productivity platform.

I also agree with the above statements that you need to give us a timeline. Even telling is it's 6 months out is better than nothing at all. Hire a calendar expert, do the revamp, and be done with it.

I can say, and maybe I'm the only one or maybe not, that if this calendar can't show the day, week, and month views, there is now way I'm switching

Micha,Have to totally agree with you. I am a Podio user and all the good features have made it very good but the calendar has prevented it from been fantastic.I think Podio users like myself are slow to be critical of it as we are total converts ! But lets wait and see if we can get a time line on the calendar and that it has the features we want.

It's really frustrating. We've given up and started using another piece of software for our calendar, which is kind of ironic given Podio's insistent desire to be a complete solution.

I'll never understand how software companies in this day & age organise themselves.

The best of the bunch are the one's who *inform* their users what is happening, what improvements are coming, and what stages they are at. I can understand this may seem risky from a competitive perspective, but if your users start looking at what your competitors are doing because your product doesn't live up to standard, it won't matter if your competitors know what you're working on!

Podio doesn't have to be like Apple, secretive. Podio is a subscription service, not a single-purchase product.

Please, just give us a timeframe. Even 'Never' is better than, "We're looking into it" - it's been months too long to continue that excuse.

I love Podio hugely. But please just tell us when we can expect a re-take of one of it's core features.

agree with Andy, we need  reassuring information and facts: a paced release process (i.e. a monthly release with any little or big improvement and  fix) could make customers like me less anxious and stop looking for a "Podio Exit Strategy".

Agreed. It's great to hear that Podio is listening and says "thanks for the feedback." Truly. But this is getting to be fairly critical for the wide adoption of this tool, as the current state of things is literally unusable for a team with lots of calendars going on at once. At this point it would be extremely helpful to have a sense of the timeline and planned features because 'thanks for the feedback' isn't changing the current state of things.

I am new to Podio, & I like what I have seen...until I get to the calendar aspect. I work for a college that uses Google Apps very heavily. I would gladly advocate using Podio if the above mentioned calendar issues would be addressed. Also, a way to decide which calendar an event or task is aded to is critical to what I do. I have sub-calendars w/in my gmail account that I use heavily. A CalDV format would would be great.

    Keep up the good work!

Jacquelyn May, please give us an update.  Day, week and month view (month view above all IMO) features for calendar are critical.  Best, Brown.

would be nice in addition to have a calendar module on front page showing whats happening today and tomorrow. would be especially nice in the iOS apps to have a Today module front and center when you open the app.

Also love the platform, but curious if there's an update on calendar feature build outs?

    Recurring events as well?

    Thanks!

Our company just started using Basecamp! My boss and I, and many of our employees who we got to play with Podio, loved everything about it. But having such a poor Calendar and the fact that it's impossible to tell when even a small improvement might be seen, meant we had to go with Basecamp. Real shame! Hopefully this is top of your todo list and some sort of change will be seen this half of the year!???

I have paid to join the Podio Premium and enjoy all aspects of the product except the Podio calendar - particularly..... #1 - the calendar "views" or lack thereof, #2 - the no "sync" back to podio calendar from a google or outlook calendar entry, and #3 - adding recurring events and tasks easily from emails or other podio app activities.  Please give us some assurance that expert design staff are hired, assigned and have a "go live" date set for the update so many users need !  Please advise ?
