Can I have different e-mail addresses connected to different organizations?
AnsweredI would like to connect different e-mail addresses to different organizations in Podio.
Reason: I have one organization which is work and another which is a voluntary organization that I do in my free time. (Let's call the work-organization "org. A" and the free-time one "org. B").
What I would like to have is that all e-mails that I receive concerning org. A are going to e-mail A and all e-mails that I receive concerning org. B go to e-mail B. Thus I could keep my work-things in one place and my free-time stuff in another.
So far I only know how to edit the e-mail address in my profile, but then it changes for all organizations that I have in my account.
Any idea how to solve this?

@Sara: thanks for getting back to me. I will be waiting impatiently ;)
@Scott: thanks for your input and suggestion but for me it's actually the other way round that sometimes I have 5 minutes time and I quickly need to check the other e-mail and issues that are pending, so it would be taking me too much time to switch to different local users on my notebook. But great that it's working for you - maybe it's a good solution for some other folks looking for a solution too.

Interesting use cases cited here on the hierarchy of multiple accounts. Also interested in merge/transfer of account information in the event of company acquisition and division ownership changes. Even on a single user - moving from a consultant to an internal employee for example... it would be useful to migrate user information and selected or all workspace(s) under these different circumstances.
Perhaps a solution in the use of multiple accounts would be the ability to 'quick switch' or "Add account" as Google allows using the upper right menu at this time in most of their user interfaces...

Hi Jonas, In case you missed it you can still have different emails connected to your Podio account and switch between organisations: https://help.podio.com/entries/21659267-adding-another-email-address-to-your-account
Only the email notifications will arrive to one email. If not, thanks for adding to the discussion! //Best, Sara - Podio

I have the exact same usecase, with the possible addition of multiple voluntary organizations, but at the moment I am in one of each (work and voluntary related). So yeah, this would definately be useful, though currently I solve it by letting them all go to my private mail, and just have automatic filtering there, and then live with having work realated stuff in my private mailbox.

Add my request to the list... the case for an individual working for multiple organisations especially for volunteering is extremely common. Additionally, it is very common in different industry sectors to to have multiple postings to different organisations (look at C level directors on boards - often hold positions with multiple entities). I look after Advertising & Media where there are Global Parent organisations, with Global or Regional Group companies with multiple sub-brands/entities. PODIO development should really undertake some consideration around this.
Kind regards,
KD

The best workaround I found for this issue is to have two web browsers installed on your laptop, say safari and chrome. On each browser I create a seperate organization and can work on both of them at the same time, just in different browsers.
However for iOS apps, there is no workaround yet so I hope Podio can let us assign different emails to different organizations.

Hi @Justin,
You can connect multiple emails to your account and switch between the different organisations you're in. All email notifications will go to the one mail you set as your primary one though. In cases these feels important to separate, opening a new separate account for the second organisation would be the way to go as it looks today.

The real issue I'm having is that system generated emails come from the same email no matter why you are sending it. I should be able to brand an email address depending on its target. It's all very straight forward programming, your "send email" workflow item needs a field to override the default mail connection. Easy day. Really kind of strange that this should be an issue in 2022. (10 years after this thread started)
