We have two clients who merged into one company, an we would love for the data of the two old compnies to be merged into one of the clients or into a new combined.

No answer at all on this issue?  I have two apps that I want to merge fields together.  You shouldn't have to vote to get an answer here.

Having a way to merge items, especially across apps, would be an incredible enhancement towards workflow improvements and CRM-style pipelines. +1!

You need to manually modify the app to add the new fields - so I would say that you can easily merge apps :) Add the missing fields in one app, then delete the other.

If you want to merge items you need to manually paste the info needed to one item, then delete the other item. It is not possible to automatically merge them - we wouldn't know what data to keep and what to delete.

Sara, a merge feature should only have one direction, when one side have priority and overwrites the other one.

I also think a general merge feature would be absolutely useful, so my +1 to have this one in your backlog :)

When you go to the "View" of the App and you have the records list - it would be good that when you mark/check records instead of just delete there was a merge option. So you select the records you want to merge and then when you click on merge you have a screen that allows you data field by field you wish to keep.
The manually fill in and delete is not the answer as you will lost attached emails / comments on the deleted record, where a merge will (should) keep both sets.

Agreed Stewart - a very useful feauture to have and should be relatively simple to do as you've explained. To Podio - is merging app items on the development list?

+1 on resolving this need by Podio. Merging data on fields would be a nice addition. On fields that can support multiple lines, why dont they just add and merge (i.e. "notes"), on fields with only one line or one data (i.e. date, text, address) then user could have the option on which one to keep and discard or perhaps add.

I entered an entire lead record into Podio and when I saved the record, it named the record after the name of the image (???) (lead.jpg). I duplicated the record to delete the name now I have two records named after the image - lead (2).jpg. I really would not like to deleted both and re-enter the entire lead again  : - (
