Archive Workspaces
CompletedI'd love the option to archive a workspace. I use workspaces for current, major projects. When the project is complete it would be nice to move it out of the workspace list without having to delete it all together.
Any plans on implementing something like this?

This isn't an answer I'm posting, it's a comment. Answers should come from Podio. I intend to leave the Podio platform. There are issues that have been raised and followed up on for years and have not been properly addressed and solved. Workspace archiving is among them, no solution is in sight. I don't want to see my most used and have to rely on that as the provided answer to a long list ofbworkspaces. This has been a good starting base for our company to manage our projects, but we've outgrown the capabilities of Podio.

You might find this useful. When I need to 'archive' a workspace, I rename it starting with 'zzz'. Then all of my make-shift archived projects are listed alphabetically below my active workspace list which is also in alphabetical order. It's kind of a work-around, but it helps me keep my workspace list uncluttered with old stuff.

+1 for this...as we are on Podio for a longer period of time, we're accumulating more workspaces that we just don't need anymore, but that we've got to hang on to for documenting purposes for a few more years. If there was a way to archive them, or even consolidate them somehow without losing comments, that would be superb! Otherwise, I'm still loving Podio. Thanks!

We have approx 100 workspace and 45% of them are closed and we have had to "archive" them under renaming them as XX.....project name. It is really getting a bit ridiculous and my team are becoming so annoyed at this they are asking if we can go back to Active Collab, simply because Podio does not have an workspace archiving feature. (Showing the latest 7 when we have 40+ active live projects does not help at all). This is such a basic function and we are not the the only ones that need it. When will this be addressed by Podio, and when can we expect a proper update version to be launched as it's been ages since there were any functional improvements?

Wow! Just reading some of the other comments above, clearly there are a lot of very frustrated Podio users who are rapidly falling out of love with Podio. It is such a shame when a successful business stops listening to its customers and is so narrow minded to continue on its own creative path, that it results in customers leaving and the business being damaged in the long run. Looks like management need to have a re-think about Podio's "team priorities" versus the paying customers needs and requirements.

Hey Kirsten
Thanks for sharing your team experience. We do agree and hope to build a better solution to this problem in the future. I have shared your experience and honest feedback with the rest of our team :)
We'll have some updates coming to Podio later today that I hope your team will like, not related to the archive workspace functionality I'm afraid but something else I also hope they will find helpful.
Thanks again - please keep the votes coming!

Hi guys
I'd like to add my voice to this issue – I have been using Podio for over 3 years now and I'm quite disappointed this still hasn't been implemented.
Every other system I've used of its kind, even inferior ones (for example Basecamp) allow this feature – for things like Web Development when we have 50-100 projects per year it's impossible to keep all workspaces open at once. The "hiding" list definitely helps but does not solve the problem.
It'd be great to get some kind of insight into Podio's view on an issue that has been lingering for years and has a lot of requests.
Thanks!

+1000 for Archiving. I create Workspaces for special projects and due to the security needs have to make a new workspace every time. Once the Project is done I want to remove the Workspace from Active but keep it in case there is anything we need to go back to. If there was a way to Archive the Workspace without deleting it that would be awesome. Some workarounds would help but aren't a good long term solution.

It's been years since this was first requested and still no progress. I'm a fan of Podio but this is really disappointing - and pretty poor service. To be honest, it's frustrating to see that other development is going on when this key feature has been requested by so many customers. Can you give any indication as to when we can expect achived workspaces to be an option?

I'd also like to be able to Archive Workspaces - our use of Podio has grown over the last year and we are now getting to that "cluttered" feeling. We use Podio for numerous things (meetings and tasks) but typically one workspace per customer project and these are the ones we'd like to archive once the project is complete.
Thanks

Has Podio decided not to implement this feature as customers are still using & functioning without it. It feels like every answer is just a diversion from being honest & telling customers that there's no chance that this feature will be available. Surely over the past two years there's been an opportunity to implement archiving.

We haven't forgot this guys, we just have a long list of improvements we like to add :)
We are currently working on implementing customized badges (top voted in the Forum) and will hopefully be able to address the need for archive as well later this year.
Thanks for your patience!

Is there a way to not display the tasks associated with a workspace that is archived?
I usually archive a workspace because I don't use it now but it's possible to use it in the future. Meanwhile I would wish those uncompleted tasks of the archived workspaces to not distract me from the ones that I keep active. Thanks!
