    Hey everyone,

First of all, thank you for your input and votes on this feature. I have great news for you today!

It’s now possible to customize what is shown in the badges so that the look and work even better in your app overview. Click the wrench in the upper left when viewing the app and select "Layout Options"

From here you can now select which fields appear within the badges and where. You can also select None in any section if you’d like to hide that area and make the badges smaller.

We just posted a blog post on this as well that you can read here: http://blog.podio.com/2015/03/24/customizable-badge-layout-podio/

Please take a look at how it works and let me know how it feels! Any questions and feedback is much welcome - as always.

    All the best,

    /Charlie - Podio

We're working on making this possible, I can't give you a timeframe for this though.

I definitely see your point for wanting this.

How about an update on this one? I'm using a date field in one of my apps which means absolutely zero without context and Podio has somehow decided that it's important so it shows it on the badge..very frustrating.

Is there a prioritized future-feature list, so we can guess if and when this advanced-badge-view will be available. From the developer point-of-view, this feature can be finished within max. 5 hours (just add some checkboxes to the small options menu of the badge view). So lets start! :)

As a complete newcomer to Podio, this is one of the first questions that I encountered while familiarising myself with the product. Disappointed to see this is not yet possible, despite apparently having been on everyone's wish list for quite some time...

Not specifically for a contact app, but just generally in my case, just having a date in big bold doesn't really give a overview whats within the app item.

Ditto.  This would be very cool.

In the mean time, is there any place that explains how the badge currently decides what to display?

    Thanks.

Well, only stream view in new iPad app, sooo, how important is this? Everything mobile/tablet is icon driven, so this has got to happen.

    Hi Guys,

I understand this point was raised 2 years ago and it is as of 2 months ago still on the wishlist to develop and I understand there is no plan on if/when it will ever be online, right?

Is there at least a way to understand how the software automatically selects what is shown in the badge? So at least I can try to have is do what I prefer, not is is quite random. Thanks!

Dont know is this is possible specifically within a contact app but I tweeted a similar question about modifying the badge view in Projects and was told by @Podiosupport that currently there is no way to modify the badge and that they are working on a new improved badge layout.  I guess not for the time being unless anyone else knows?

Just wanted to express my desire for this functionality as well.  Making it similar to the way widgets work would be ideal.  Thanks!

I also don't find a lot of proper functionality in terms of what is visible in the badge.  The due date displays, which is fine, but not the project, deliverable, or action item owner.  Instead the badge displays the name of the person who entered the data, which in many cases may be an admin.  The name that displays on the badge should be the owner of the badge item.

Completely agree with Jonathan - would be perfect if all PODIO users could amend the badge to display the information they deem vital as I am sure this changes for every person who uses PODIO.

For contacts and displaying of images, this feature is a must. Looking forward to timeline of implementation.

I very much would like to modify the BadgeView. It appears fairly random as to which fields are displayed in the badge. For example in one of my apps, the first three fields are displayed, however in the Gallery app it displays a date (in fact not the date from the entry screen, but the creation date) and the creator. That is not helpful to me at all. Thanks!

+1 on this request. It should be configurable which fields are displayed in the badges and which get visual priority. Sometimes a date needs to be more salient than a photo, or you don't want to have to choose the order in which your fields are listed in the app. You could define regions in the badge (e.g., header, sub-header, large center pane, footer) and let users map fields to regions. If you wanted to be super fancy, you could provide a drag-and-drop interface like the one you have for Excel imports, and perhaps provide formatting controls for each region. Even super-duper-fancier would be to allow multiple fields to be mapped to the same region in order of precedence so the badge would display the secondary one if there's no data for the primary one.

Yes, this is exactly the feature we wanted to see also.  We wanted to see the project title on the summary and not the date.

Modifying the badges is on the top of my wishlist.

This seems to be quite buggy, leading to confusion. PODIO, what is the official word on this? Data seems to be displayed randomly at the moment.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

I would welcome solution aswell. For example app is switching project names with project leaders at badge header and therefore creates confusion when using badge layout, as Jordi said higher.

Thanks for solving this problem ;)

I can imagine this is in the works, not just due to our demand here, but it will probably be a key feature to make the new tablet app user friendly.

The last official update position on this was 8/1.  With the support / desire from more more users shared, does that change "position" / ranking in terms of enhancement priorities?  Or at the very least, has a general ballpark estimate been discussed?

Hey Kristi, no news about timeframe at the moment, but that doesn't mean that we don't read and discuss your input.

In general we don't give timeframes on future features, but trust me that I share the popular suggestions from the Help Centre with the rest of the team as often as I can.

Hi; I, too, would love to be able to change what is shown on the Badge layout. I love the Badge layout as it's prefect for me to be able to see at a glance the different projects I've got on the go, but would be great to be able see other info than the date. Thanks!

Just wanted to add that if you don't put a start or end date, you get to see much more info on the badge.

ditto. It would be great to display only pertinent information in the badge view rather than "random" information
