Badge Display
CompletedIs there a way to change the summary that is displayed on the badge in the badge view layout? For instance, I have modified a contact app to include a photo for members. I would like the badge view to display thier photo and their name. Right now the badge displays their photo and their contact category (another field in the app). Can I change this?

Sara - Thanks for responding.
I actually see a lot of this type of behavior coming from SAAS providers where they acknowledge a shortcoming in their offering, promise to fix it (or not) and simply go on about their business, never really addressing the issue. In effect, what you are telling your customers is that we can "take it or leave it", but ultimately you don't care (even if you are paying lip service by acknowledging the issue in the first place).
Google does this and gets away with it because there really aren't many (any) category competitors. Zoho seems to have based their entire business model on this way of behaving. Thankfully, there are other CRM's out there and "free" isn't on my requirements list - "fit" and "function" are. So while I'm busy looking to leave Zoho and Podio sounds nice, I'm not yet sure Podio is mature enough to call home and the more issues like this one I run across, the less inclined I am to entrust my business data to your company.

@Al Bunch, I see what you are saying but we do actually take all inputs and feedback serious. Here is a few of the features we added in 2013 based on input from users and customers: https://help.podio.com/hc/communities/public/topics/200071937-4-Completed-Feature-Requests
We have a long list of to-dos (wishlist of stuff we'll like to improve) and a small team to make it happen, but we are working everyday to make Podio better - and appreciate all these votes and feedback when prioritizing new features for the future. So please keep the votes coming everyone :)

12+ months of knocking, and no response?!? This is one feature which holding me from switch to Podio as my main tool. I have used Podio for last year and all comments from my coleagues was: can we see something more visual? When I show them badges from app which I have to edit few times to better represent our workflow, they have seen all different badges, because I have to rearrange fields during implementation, and now can't edit their display... Shame... +1 +1 +1 +... anybody listen?
Can you make some API, so we can change badge display ourselves? -
Hey Desimir Miljić
I updated you guys a month ago if you look through the comments. The feature request is on our wish-list of things we would like to do but no current plans just yet. Thanks for your patience and vote, much appreciated! :)
You can find API documentation here: https://developers.podio.com/ (I am not a developer myself)

Hey Tony
We don't have a publicly disclosed roadmap but feel free to let us know in a private support request and we will be happy to let you know if what are you looking for is planned or not. You can for example reach out via the "Idea for Podio" option when you submit a request. Our product manager is handling all requests in the "Idea for Podio" category :)

Thanks for all the votes and feedback!
We have this input on our internal wish-list and hopefully we will be able to build a new and more flexible badge view some time in the future. Unfortunately I cannot promise exactly when it will happen but we will make sure to keep you all updated via this thread. Please add your vote and subscribe to the thread for any future updates!
Here is some info on how the badge is currently working -
Main part:
If image field is present only the image will be displayed
If no image field is present but a date field is present, only date field will be displayed
If neither image nor date fields are present all field values that can fit on the badge will be listed in the following order: Text, Number, Calculation, Money, Duration, Question. Means: Number will not start listing until all Text fields are listed etc.
Footer:
Additionally if one of these fields are present they will be displayed in the footer of the badge:
On the left: Category or State field.
On the right: Contact field.
If progress bar is present it will be displayed underneath.
Please also notice that for Image, Date, Contact, Progress, State and Category fields only the first field will be picked up (I believe they come from the API presorted by their order specified in the App Builder). For all the other types all available fields will be listed.Cheers,

Hi Guys,
I understand this point was raised 2 years ago and it is as of 2 months ago still on the wishlist to develop and I understand there is no plan on if/when it will ever be online, right?
Is there at least a way to understand how the software automatically selects what is shown in the badge? So at least I can try to have is do what I prefer, not is is quite random. Thanks!

This change would help close the deal for us. We're evaluating Podio for use as a high-level project information tool (our company manages dozens of projects at once), and it almost makes it to place in our ecosystem along with JIRA (issue tracking) and HipChat (communication). What would it take to get this off of "wishlist" and into a scheduled release?

For example, I like entering image url's in the link field to display pictures of large file types that I don't want to have to save to my computer or DropBox. I would like a thumbnail of the image to display in the Badge or Card view. As is now, the view is rather drab not nearly as functional as it could be if users were granted more control over Badge and Card display.

Is there a prioritized future-feature list, so we can guess if and when this advanced-badge-view will be available. From the developer point-of-view, this feature can be finished within max. 5 hours (just add some checkboxes to the small options menu of the badge view). So lets start! :)
