Badge Display
CompletedIs there a way to change the summary that is displayed on the badge in the badge view layout? For instance, I have modified a contact app to include a photo for members. I would like the badge view to display thier photo and their name. Right now the badge displays their photo and their contact category (another field in the app). Can I change this?

+1 for a custom badge view.(current badge view does not make any sense for 99% of our current Apps, however it has great potential to improve our Podio experience if it becomes customizable)
+1 for displaying the FULL thumbnail in Badge view
And, off this topic, however worth mentioning:
+1 for the ability to bulk delete or selectively delete entries
+11 for an improved day/week/month calendar. Option to configure the display format for the DATE building block, including ability to display the day of the week
+11 Better calculation
+11 make the item ID part of the excel export/import
+1111 More advanced user permissions (configurable at the building block level in each App)

Hey Darren and others,
We are sorry if you feel that we are ignoring you, that is definitely not on purpose. As my colleague Jacquelyn wrote in March we have still no news when / if this will be possible. We'll be sure to keep you all posted when anything changes and we have news to share. We appreciate all the votes and feedback so please keep it coming!

+1 also!! The badges don't display relevant info. The date isn't overly helpful. And it's funny that the title is tiny.
And a drag and drop feature would be awesome. Most of the time, I'm not wanting to view these cards alphabetically, or by creator, or by due date... I'd like to drag the stuff that I'm currently working on up to the top.
It doesn't seem like these would be overly difficult features to incorporate. The site seems to be very customizable for the most part. It's funny that the cards give you no options.

Branding is a major part of our culture. We are an re-purposing and electronics recycling company, Everything we do it green. Our name is C2 management which stands for cradle to cradle management, all of our internal and external sites are green and our motto is We'll C2 it.
We are finding Podio to be incredibly useful and that branding and culture incorporation would really drive it home!

It would be AMAZING to have a roadmap of what is planned for the future, with "tentative" ideas (maybe +1 month for good measure?). This might help alleviate some of the frustration with the "silence" from Podio.
We all know that Podio is working hard on features, and in my opinion, these forums may sometimes seem like a thousand little Chihuahuas yapping at Podio's heels all at once demanding food (features). Giving people a general idea of some sort of timeline might help alleviate some of that.
Right now we are told, "We see your feedback, but we have no timeline for you." But unfortunately, it sounds like, "Maybe one day, quite possibly, in the distant future, at an obscure, undisclosed point in time, in a galaxy far, far away.... we might run across your idea again." We know you don't mean it like that, but that's how it sounds when we're left in the dark.
Thanks for an amazing product thus far. It has been pretty awesome to figure out and customize so far.

Hey Tyler,
We agree :) In the next version of our Help Centre we will like to create more transparency on this. We will hopefully add a "planned" function to some discussions to give you an idea that it is on the list (our wish-list). This specific request above has been on our wish-list for a long time but unfortunately haven't been prioritized yet. Therefore it is really great to get all your votes for it! :) So keep them coming.
We don't publicly disclose the roadmap as we don't want to make promises we might not be able to keep because things changes. If you ask us directly here or in support we will try to give you an indication if a feature is on the list or not. We have a long to-do list and unfortunately don't have the time to implement everything at once.

That's how it works exactly:
Main part:
1. If image field is present only the image will be displayed
2. If no image field is present but a date field is present, only date field will be displayed
3. If neither image nor date fields are present all field values that can fit on the badge will be listed in the following order: Text, Number, Calculation, Money, Duration, Question. Means: Number will not start listing until all Text fields are listed etc.Footer:
Additionally if one of these fields are present they will be displayed in the footer of the badge:
On the left: Category or State field.
On the right: Contact field.
If progress bar is present it will be displayed underneath. Please also notice that for Image, Date, Contact, Progress, State and Category fields only the first field will be picked up (I believe they come from the API presorted by their order specified in the App Builder). For all the other types all available fields will be listed.

Just wanted to +100 on this.
Just started trying to manage a couple of projects in Podio, the Badge view is the only view that looks good and yet due to the non-customisable display method it is completely useless if I have a date field present but want to be able to look at other data at a glance instead of the date.
Looking forward to Podio offering the ability to customise the Badge view! Thanks!

Sara,
Thanks for the details. It makes a bit more sense now.
One more question: What determines the default view for an App? I suspect that it if it has a date in it, the the badge view is selected. If so, could that maybe changed? We don't much like the badge view, and there it is, jumping up all the time.
Cheers!

You set the default view in the advanced settings in the app builder. You can also save views in the app and the app will remember the view next time you enter.
Here's how you create views, filter and reports:
https://help.podio.com/entries/21713277-using-filters-and-reports
http://blog.podio.com/2013/01/16/views-reports/Also, it might be better to forward all questions that is not related to this specific feature request directly to us in support via https://help.podio.com/tickets/new or support@podio.com - then we don't notify this entire thread of people. It is better to keep this thread related to one topic only :)
