Badge Display
CompletedIs there a way to change the summary that is displayed on the badge in the badge view layout? For instance, I have modified a contact app to include a photo for members. I would like the badge view to display thier photo and their name. Right now the badge displays their photo and their contact category (another field in the app). Can I change this?

+1!!!!!
This is a VERY annoying oversight. I need to be able to view Client Name, Project Description, Job #, & Due date on each badge. How has this issue been known since august and not addressed?
Cards should be given a similar feature as well. For instance I'm using the Deliverables app and having a hard time with naming. It only makes sense that each card show the Deliverable name and also the name of the Project each Deliverable is tied to. Otherwise I'm finding that my names are redudant and hard to differentiate. And to differentiate them I end up with very long names.
Is there any update as to when we could expect something like this?

For me, this topic is like knocikng on front door, while someone in house singing in shower. You can hear them, so you know somebody is inside, but there is no response. I think this feature is absolute must, but I'm not sure that after almost year of knocking on door anything will speed things up. I would also put my +1000000, if numbers can help...

This lack of customization for the badges is holding me back from signing up to Premium.
I made a little preview how I would like to see the implementation. Just for fun! ;) See attach.
I also find that Table view could be improved by
- reducing the size of each column to fit the maximum length of the content in it. This can of course be done manually but it's time consuming.
- Having the ability to reduce the font siz to fit more data. (or hide/auto-hide the right sidebar)
- Having the ability to change the order of the column (at an Admin level)
Anyway, I really hope this feature gets implemented soon.

@Greg Pin ... Nice work on the Badge customization "preview".
Just to add to what you were saying about the Table view... it would also be great to be able to choose if the content in a cell Wraps or not as well (as in typical spreadsheets) as I often have description style information I'd like to display in that view.

Could that be completely impracticable? Just fix it to a pre-defined order so we can use it at least halfway.
And then adding a feature for user defined order would create some premium-sign-ups I think.
That's just some database-order-by-settings, isn't it? But imo that's breaking your application.

Thanks for the clarification Jacquelyn. It's indeed why. That said, this behavior is not practical at all. I believe it should be reviewed.
Right now, all our workspace members are confused about it. The lack of relevant data in badge view makes the view obsolete. We are forced to display in list view, which, sadly, cannot be customized either.
I truly hope you will be able to announce a release date soon. The lack of road-map on Podio's part , makes it very difficult for me to confidently add all our employees on it. (40+ users).
Podio is an amazingly well thought tool, but a few usability issues takes away from it's greatness. So I truly hope most of the top concerns will be addressed soon.
+1 for a custom badge view.
+1 for a custom table view
+1 for the ability to bulk delete or selectively delete of entries
+1 for an improved day/week/month calendar (or even an integrated Gantt chart)
+1 for having the ability to brand it more (Just a company logo instead of the Podio logo would suffice, but having the top header bar customizable would be fan-tas-tic.)
+1 Better calculation
+1 More advanced user permissions.
@Podio dev team ,
Keep up the good work, But please... hurry up. ;) -
+100 on everything @Greg Pin requested from Podio. Extra +10 on "More advanced user permissions/more granular admin control" We've been getting push back from clients and guest users who feel that they are being solicited by Podio ever since being invited to our Podio workspace. This has made us put on the brakes - not invite guest users to our account - until/unless changes are made. No offence Podio, God knows I'm one of your brand evangelists, but I really don't like that my clients and guest users become your leads. This makes us both look less than trustworthy. We want Podio to be a business tool - like an extension of our customer service model - not a separate 3rd party app that mails our clients company newsletters and offers.
-
@Podio, why not just make the badge/card/table... displays user-determined rather than random or consequential. Business users need Podio to be as easy to manage and configure as possible. You're doing many things right already, but display content is pretty important and would really enhance the whole user experience.

@Podio,
When re-designing Badge View, it would make a world of difference to get rid of partial image snippets and instead show a true THUMBNAIL of an image.
The ability to show an image preview is a great feature, but since the current design shows only a small piece of the image instead of showing a thumbnail of the whole image, it is very difficult to locate anything by visual appearance alone.I would image this to be a critical feature for any organization dealing with visual information, particularly designers, architects, photographers, and artists.
I know that an additional "Gallery" view has been requested by others, but with proper image thumbnails, and the ability for users to customize what information appears in Badge View previews, I would think it would be possible to make Badge View function like an image gallery view (similar to the way Pinterest displays primarily visual information) if one needed it to function in that way.
Thanks for listening to all of our feedback. I'm looking forward to the improvements.

Perhaps slightly superfluous, but I'd be really pleased with the ability to customize the badge layout. Comparable to http://birdviewprojects.com, this would give you a complete oversight of the workspace in a single glance.
-
Another neat feature they have implemented at Birdview is a sliding bar which allows the user to dynamically control the amount of detail displayed in a table or a badge. As such, the overview of an entire workspace can be combined with a detailed look at a deliverable or task, all with the mere slide of a mouse. Combine that with a customizable badge layout and you're home free...
