How I assign a pre-existing task to an app?

For example, if I'm using the Deliverables app and I convert an email from Gmail into a task, I can see how to assign the task to a workspace but I can't see how to then assign that task to a deliverable?

Okay, I've found how to add a task to a deliverable (just type the name of the deliverable!), but I can't find how to edit an assignment, once made?  Clicking the assignment takes you to the workspace / app item / etc.  I can't find a way to edit or delete the assignment.

I also want to assign a pre-created task to an app. In this case to add it to a project. Is this possible? I probably just can't see it for looking.

Sussed it. If you start to type the name of project in the box where it says reference, it can be selected from the drop down box. I found I had to delete the name of the workspace from the box first to get the option to add a reference project.

No matter what I do, I cannot see the Podio task to show up in the Gmail inbox.  This is very frustrating because it was there for about a week then disappeared and it won't come back but all the settings seem to be okay.  I need technical HELP!!!

Is this possible on iPad?

IE "attach this task to any item or workspace"

It appears to be locked to workspace...

Ok, figured it out:

I opened the deliverable or project and clicked the "share" button in the top left.

If I select 'Add Task' here, then the task is linked to the deliverable.

Quite logical really, the icon a little confusing maybe...
