Will cache refresh continue if I close the browser tab?

When I save a flow that uses a date field trigger, the cache is refreshed as expected. Depending on which app it's for, sometimes it takes a long time for the cache refresh to finish. 

If I close the browser tab, will that interrupt/stop the cache refresh? Or will it continue in the background (similar to how file downloads continue even if you close the tab)?
