Searching Text in Conversations is Troublesome

I recently searched for some text in a conversation that was started 2 years ago. Search found it, but didn't take me to the exact conversation timestamp.

Instead, I had to scroll up through the conversation for 30 minutes until I found the text I needed.

Is this normal behavior? Or am I missing something? Because that seems a bit archaic.

  I'm surprised it found it all. As far as I know, there's no way to search the chats. Makes a ton of sense considering that they force us to keep them forever.

  Yes, please optimize. Scrolling up for 30 minutes to find an important chat message from 2 years ago was a crazy waste of time. I even searched for 3rd party software so it would scroll up automatically while I walked away. No luck. All software out there seems to scroll down.

  Search results should jump to the actual chat timestamp to preserve our sanity. ;)
