Adding App Item in another Workspace without access?

I am looking for a way for users to submit expense requests from their Production workspace to the Accounting workspace- which they do not have access to. 

Ideally this would show status/approval somehow.

I have a link to a webform in their workspace that does this but, I was wondering if there is a cleaner way of doing this. Any pointers?

  Currently, the most efficient way of creating new items within workspaces that you're not a member of is via Podio webforms.
