Prevent User from Deleting an Item

I need for my users to be able to edit the fields in an item while restricting their ability to delete that item.  Right now they are bundled together and this makes me sad.

  Hi Dan. If your user are light, I think that normally, they cannot delete item created by other user.

  Thanks for the help Jean-Claude.   I tried that and I'm pretty sure they were still able to delete the item.
