Going from dev apps to production - clone workspace?
My boss asked me to get some opinions on this and I agree that it is a genuine concern. He is an old-school programmer and hates the idea of doing developmental work on an active production environment with real data (ie working on new apps with active and current business data). With this in mind what is the best process for working on new Podio apps without directly integrating it in the current workspace? I'm thinking of cloning all of our current workspaces, using that as a dev environment and then cloning new apps back to the active workspace once they are tested and working. Does anyone have a process like this that works? Anything I should know before starting? Any better ideas? TIA, Mark

I'm curious on the best practice here.
I created a Sandbox workspace that I work through all of my updates and then I publish the apps and the flows so that I can pull them from the app market for my organization. My issue is that we go through enough content each year and I want updates pushed 1/1 each years and that becomes a royal pain because I have to do a couple dozen work spaces one by one.
I wish it were easier if I made a change to the app in the Sandbox to push that update to each individual workspace.

You may want to consider this Podio extension: http://pushingpodio.globi.ca/manage-deployments-of-podio-apps-and-globiflow-flows.php

Bill Carovano thank you so much! I'm a Procfu user and I had not noticed that extension. I'll take a look at it and I'm sure it will help a great deal. Jason Martin you'll probably be interested in the above also if you haven't already seen it.
